Salt dough is perfect for creating homemade Christmas ornaments, and it's super easy to make! 🎄🎄
Ingredients:
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 cup of table salt
* 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup of water (you might need a little more or less)
* Food color to color the dough, or you can paint the ornaments after baking,
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Slowly add the water and mix until a dough forms. You're aiming for a firm, pliable dough consistency. You can also add in food color at this point if you like.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it until smooth.
Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to create shapes. You can also make handprints or other designs.
Preheat your oven to (250°F) 120°C. Place the ornaments on a baking sheet and bake for about 2-3 hours or until they're hard and dry. The thickness of your ornaments will affect the baking time, so keep an eye on them.
Let the ornaments cool completely before painting or decorating.
Tip - If you want your ornaments to last for years, ensure they're baked through and then paint them with a sealant like mod podge.
