The first Taco Tuesday ride with the Disciples of Dirt this season! Thurston was flowing great and Alex did really well even after a spill off a berm. Got right back up and used his Cub Scout first aid skills to get patched up. Victory tacos for doing hard things. 😁🌮🌮🌮

Did a modified Murph today with Chance and Jane!

1.3 miles with 30 # ruck
100 sandbag rows with 80 #
100 pushups
300 air squats with 30 # ruck
1 mile with 30 # ruck (and a Jane)

The Murph is always better with others!

I even got to share Lt. Murphy's story with Jane and a neighbor who saw us rucking by. It was an honor to share his memory and to do some hard work for him and the other service members who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day is special because of that, not because of the barbecues and beers (though those are excellent as well).

Did a half mile of 60 # sandbag throws with our ruck club this morning.

The community of adventurers that's surrounded me has been essential this week. When things get hard, the team you cultivate really shows up and I'm so grateful for how our family and friends have come around our family.

Proud papa moment today after a roller coaster of a week.

"Dad, can I sleep outside?" This is after my son also asked if he could mow the lawn. And did. And did a good job at it.

Hunting morels out in the mountains is a blast! Way different than the mushroom hunting I did as a kid, and it's so enjoyable to bring Alex into the hunt! Chance is also becoming quite the mushroom hunter. 🤣

Stew update: moved inside because I needed a bigger pot and our firewood was pretty wet and hard to keep a good fire lit. Lessons learned for next time! Need a bigger Dutch oven. 🤣

We had quite the adventure at the coast today in Florence! Chance found a skate egg and made friends with every dog on the beach. 🤣

It was so fun watching him explore and romp around! He's the best Christmas present our family could ask for. What a great doggo!

Had a great workout with our crew who added a new member this week! Chance was a great rucking companion and encouraged all of our flutter kicks with lots of kisses. 🤣

and I welcomed a new member to the adventuring party yesterday!

This is Chance, and he's a 1 year old husky/malamute rescue. He's the best boy and we're looking forward to lots of adventures together!

It's no coincidence he joined the family on the Joy Sunday of Advent. He's full of joyful energy, smiles, and snuggles.

I've been wishing for a dog like this for a long time, so this is a dream come true!

Thanks to and his excellent book, "Norwegian Wood" I've got a good looking wood pile from our giant pile of Douglas Fir.

It was great working with friends and family to get this all split and stacked. I think we may have found a new fun tradition!

Nothing like some Oregon "sunshine" in the fall to get you motivated to work out! Always a good time with and doing 's Burn the Ships workout.

This has been a great rhythm to get into, and even if all of us aren't doing it every week, we're showing up more often than not. Two percent shifts at a time!

She brings such joy to my life and I'm honored to be her husband. She's an inspiration!
