A company called Tidalwave is planning to release a graphic novel about BTS. Things you should know:
- BTS nor BigHit/Hybe were involved in the writing or production of the book, and the members will receive no proceeds from it.
- Tidalwave and the book’s writer have been incredibly disrespectful to Armys who have voiced concerns about the book’s content.
- The book’s writer has a past of problematic behavior towards women which led to his removal from projects by DC Comics.
- A previous project by Tidalwave about Taylor Swift was criticized by her fandom as being oversexualized and disrespectful.
- Sample pages that have been shared show that this book was written with only a cursory knowledge of BTS’ work and message. Content in the book also likely violates BTS’s intellectual property.
This book appears to be a cash grab designed to take advantage of Army during our time missing the guys as they complete their mandatory military service. If you have pre-ordered this book, please consider canceling your order.
