*** UPDATE: We’re continuing to ask customers in Moe, Newborough, Yallourn North, Trafalgar, Yarragon, Darnum, Maffra, Stratford, Boisdale, Mirboo North, Morwell, Traralgon and Tyers to put off any non-essential water use to help reduce load on our water treatment plants over the long weekend.

We’re asking customers in Moe, Newborough, Yallourn North, Trafalgar, Yarragon, Darnum, Maffra, Stratford, Boisdale, Mirboo North, Morwell, Traralgon and Tyers to consider putting off any non-essential water use today.

The recent storms have stirred up some of our raw water supplies and a number of our water treatment plants are working harder than usual.

While the water coming to your taps is safe to drink, we’re asking for customers to help reduce load on the plants, if you can.

We’d also appreciate you keeping your eyes open for any water leaks or bursts around your towns and if you see any, please call our Faults & Emergencies line on 1800 057 057.

A claim has been made that information provided within YNConnection is incorrect. The claim states that fire restrictions for the Latrobe area ends on 15 March, and not on 1 May as stated within the recent March edition. The official source, the CFA website, states otherwise (per picture below). As of 7pm tonight, and at time of printing, the official source still states 1/5/21 for ending of the fire danger period - as was stated within the publication.
