Another book now listed on Kindle. THE REBELS OF HESHKO, a novel of Darad. A straightforward tale of a rebellion against an inadquate king and his grasping minister, headed by a young man who is the descendant of former kings of Kheristam, a young man whose head is forfeit but who wins through, aided by widespread discontent. No magic, unless you count the light shows of Mount Vasrad which a battle there brings to life. Kajutan, the wily lord of Heshko, orchestrates the rebellion, and Stirmand, the deposed king, becomes the instrument of his own defeat.

Another book published on Kindle - MADAM I'M A DARLING. Set in the Great Storm of 1702, Joseph plus other travellers are stranded by snow in a barn. One of those travellers is Damaris. Fearing a forced betrothal to Moses, when Joseph leaves she goes with him on horseback, through difficult conditions to Joseph's home. They have to solve various problems, as does her father who is beset by Moses' father demanding a betrothal contract, but later in the year they marry and put the storm behind them.

A new book out on Kindle. OAK ASH AND THORN, a story of three humans who wander into fairyland, who experience the strangeness of another reality, gradually learning where they have strayed and the new reality of a different world, gradually turning into fairy folk. They are called to witness at a trial for murder, the murderer banished to the human world where he suffers a deserved fate, bereft of all his powers. Each of the three begin with a quest, led blindly through forest and garden before they find their place in this new realm.

Another Diyadin book now on Kindle. THE PEACOCK ANGEL. With impending war among the Diyadin Tahiureh is sent out into the galaxy to await its conclusion in safety. He circles the galaxy and arrives on Earth during Alexander's campaigns. Humans fascinate him, they are so alike and yet so different. But eventually he moves on, circling the stars till he meets other Diyadin, and with the wars long over, returns to Darad. But Darad, and the Diyadin, are not what they once were and he has a new reality to absorb.

Daphne Hilsdon has a new book published on Kindle - THE WAY BACK. It is a collection of short stories about the world of Darad and its peoples, men, Ceahuin and Diyadin; takes of war, love, magic, treachery, revenge. A king has to combat treachery in his own family, a young lord meddles in magic to his regret, a young Diyadin exceeds his powers and has to be rescued, and much more.

The third Diyadin novel featuring Tamashac is now available on Kindle. The young Diyadin and his friends determine to save all the imrisoned elders they can, and comb the ancient battle sites to try to release them, using Tamashac's enchanted Sword. In the process they discover that many of these enchanted Diyadin are in danger of dying and hasten to free all they can. A DESTINY OF SWORDS describes their travails - and Tamashac's reward.

Daphne Hilsdon has a new novel now available on Kindle. A BIRD IN THE HAND follows on from the two linked novels COLICHEMARDE and GENTLEMEN OF THE COAST, battling against the treachery of the 'Bird in Hand' club during the Anglo-French wars of the early 1700s. Culvato Lee has been tasked by the English government to expose traitors in Portsmouth. He is aware of the dangers he faces, but on the way he and Martin Herold, who is also bound for Portsmouth, pick up two runaways. One, they leave happily behind; the other is also bound for Portsmouth. Friends put them in command of all that is known about this dangerous club, but the dangers are greater than they realise, and all of them, including those who come to their help, run in risk of their lives; attacks on the streets, a sea battle, an attempt at robbery. And there are more dangers. The runaway they bring with them is a girl disguised as a boy, and she too is in danger of a different kind. So they are still not safe.

We haven't had any new books to add to our list recently but there will be one shortly, in the "William and Mary" series, following on from the adventures in "Colichemarde" and "Gentlemen of the Coast". This is about Culvato, who appears in support of other characters in so many other books. The title to look out for will be "A Bird in the Hand", a story which encompasses the end of the notorious 'Bird in Hand' club. More about the story will be advertised later.
