Liz MacRae (ACTRA Award Recipient 2015 – Outstanding Voice Performance) was awarded ACTRA Life Membership in 2020 during the period of Covid, but was officially recognized with other colleagues on Monday night Nov. 14th at the Montreal ACTRA Awards. Her agent is Marc Elias at ‘Haus Of Marc’ and she is ACTRA/UDA.

Life Membership is awarded annually and is awarded by the ACTRA National Council, on the recommendation of a local council, to a member who has distinguished himself/herself in the service of the industry or organization. A Life Member pays no basic dues, but pays working dues.

Next up on our exciting cast list, Trevor Barrette who will be taking on the role of W***y in SuperDogs: The Musical.

Trevor has worked with the Segal Centre for a long time behind the scenes, including The Sages of Chelm (director, upcoming), The Angel & the Sparrow (assistant director), Children of God (apprentice SM), Indecent (apprentice SM), Mythic (apprentice SM), and the Segal Centre Academy’s Captain Aurora (book, music & lyrics). He also has graced the Montreal stages in Innocence Lost (Centaur Theatre/National Arts Centre), Measure for Measure, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Repercussion Theatre), The Halloween Tree (Geordie Productions), YEV (Scapegoat Carnivale), and The Rocky Horror Show (MainLine Theatre).

Though Trevor is thrilled to be playing W***y and performing with all the SuperDogs on stage, he is in fact a cat dad! Trevor loves his two beautiful cuddly black cats, Sam and Jasper.

Time to meet the next star of SuperDogs, Dakota Jamal Wellman, who will be taking on the role of Dante!

Dakota is no stranger to working with animals, once having had to chase down a chicken for a film. Dakota describes the experience as "kind of terrifying at first" and much prefers working with dogs!!

This will be Dakota's Segal debut having recently appeared in Summer of Sonnets, Much Ado About Nothing (Repercussion Theatre), Simone Half and Half (Black Theatre Workshop), Reaching for Starlight (Geordie Theatre), and Don’t Read The Comments (Sermo Scomber Theatre). Dakota has also made various TV and Film appearances including About S*x (CBC Gem), Matthias et Maxime (with Director Xavier Dolan), and The Bold Type (ABC Freeform).
