The KMR team (parent company to USGlass magazine) lost a member of its family last week. Saundra Hutchison was an award-winning designer, a gifted artist and a wonderful, giving, friend and colleague.

She was also the sole caregiver to her mom, Pat, who is in her 80s. In an effort to help and in honor of Saundra's life, love and memory, a GoFundMe account has been started to provide Pat with some financial support and assistance. A New York resident alleges she experienced physical harm and severe emotional distress as a result of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation due to faulty information about her apartment’s glass. According to court documents, the 28th-floor apartment at One United Nations Park in New York City features glass walls that were said to offer 100% UV protection. The protection was vital for one of the plaintiffs, Jennifer Yen, who has a history of melanoma.

More than a year following the shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville, the majority of Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) are still waiting for security film to be installed. MNPS’ original deadline anticipated that all Nashville schools would have security film installed by the end of this past spring. However, MNPS officials now say that the installation will take much longer due to delays in contracting, hiring, delivery and weather.

Pilkington United Kingdom Limited, part of NSG Group, will open a new hydrogen plant at its Greengate Works site in St. Helens, U.K. Company officials say Pilkington U.K. also aims to scale up its production of low-carbon glass. The new plant will provide the site’s furnace with up to seven tons of zero-emission hydrogen daily.
