SATURDAY LG/LCDA ELECTIONS: LAGOS RESTRICTS MOVEMENT ACROSS THE STATE

The Lagos State Government has announced restriction of movement across the State between the hours of 8a.m and 3p.m on Saturday, 24th July, 2021.

According to the commissioner for information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the restriction is to enable the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) conduct hitch-free elections into positions of Chairmen and Councillors in all the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas.

Omotoso added that the restriction will facilitate the ease of movement of the electorate, election materials and LASIEC officials for the sanctity of the election, effective monitoring and enhanced security.

"All eligible voters are urged to participate in the elections, which require the cooperation of all residents".

Acclaimed Leader of Secessionists Group, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has been Arrested

Addressing the media at a joint media briefing of the Department of State Services and the Police, Nigeria's Justice Minister and Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, said he was 'intercepted' on Sunday 27 June.

Malami said the arrest was by the effort of intelligence services.

The Justice Minister said Kanu has been returned to Nigeria to face his 11-count charge bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, illegal possession of fi****ms, among others.
