A Michigan drone pilot flew over almost the entire 11-mile path of the May 7 tornado that ripped through Portage and surrounding areas. C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S! Carter Tuthill proved he’s a master of linguistics, as the Milwood Magnet School eighth grader was crowned Kalamazoo County’s best young speller this year. Carter now advances to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May in National Harbor, Maryland, where he’ll represent Kalamazoo County.
