If you were like 10 years old in 1976, hearing Hall and Oates say “bitch” in the lyrics of Rich Girl was a pretty big deal, wasn’t it? Yeah, we get you. It was a big deal for us too.

Rich Girl was the biggest single from “Bigger Than Both of Us”, which was released on September 8, 1976. The album peaked at number 13 on the albums chart in the US. Rich Girl did hit number one of the Billboard Hot 100. A first of six number one hits from Daryl Hall and John Oates ( )

This is absolutely one of the songs that belongs in the Gen X Soundtrack if only because we were kids that kinda got to say, or at least acknowledge, a bad word!
