The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) has awarded contracts worth billions of Naira to improve education across the state. The formal ceremony took place at the Government House in Gusau, attended by key figures, including Governor Dauda Lawal.

Prof. Nasir Garba Anka, ZSUBEB's Executive Chairman, announced that the board received ₦6.3 billion as a BESDA Reward for 2023, along with additional funds from a Matching Grant and state government contributions, totaling over ₦2.7 billion. For 2024, ZSUBEB has secured a Matching Grant of over ₦7.1 billion.

The funds will be used to enhance educational standards, with plans to build and renovate various educational facilities, including classrooms, playrooms, and toilets. Prof. Anka also highlighted ZSUBEB's national recognition for its Teachers Management Information System (TMIS) and achievements in gifted student examinations.

The event concluded with Governor Lawal presenting contract certificates to local contractors, emphasizing the government's commitment to advancing education in Zamfara State.

A visit to JNI Primary School in Gusau was conducted by Aliyu Danmaliki, the director of social mobilization, and Khalifa Ja'afar, the Desk Officer of effective schools (e-learning), to observe the implementation of e-learning. Despite low student turnout on the first day after vacation, the head teacher explained how students were grouped and equipped with tablets for interactive learning, he explained how teachers retrieved and distributed tablets for each lesson to prevent damage or loss. The director praised the school's dedication and encouraged further efforts to make Zamfara state a model for e-learning nationwide.

The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board's Standing Committee for appointment and promotion has submitted its report to the Executive Chairman, Professor Nasir Garba Anka. The committee visited all fourteen local government Education Authorities, promoting a total of 2,020 teachers ranging from grade level 6 to 16. The chairman, Rufa'i Jibiril Muhammad, highlighted the distribution of promotions across different grade levels and local governments. This included 3 laptops, 10 Samsung Galaxy tablets, and 4 motorcycles for the official use of local government Quality Assurance Officers. The launch took place at the board's headquarters in Gusau, the state capital.
