The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) has awarded contracts worth billions of Naira to improve education across the state. The formal ceremony took place at the Government House in Gusau, attended by key figures, including Governor Dauda Lawal.
Prof. Nasir Garba Anka, ZSUBEB's Executive Chairman, announced that the board received ₦6.3 billion as a BESDA Reward for 2023, along with additional funds from a Matching Grant and state government contributions, totaling over ₦2.7 billion. For 2024, ZSUBEB has secured a Matching Grant of over ₦7.1 billion.
The funds will be used to enhance educational standards, with plans to build and renovate various educational facilities, including classrooms, playrooms, and toilets. Prof. Anka also highlighted ZSUBEB's national recognition for its Teachers Management Information System (TMIS) and achievements in gifted student examinations.
The event concluded with Governor Lawal presenting contract certificates to local contractors, emphasizing the government's commitment to advancing education in Zamfara State.
