PHILADELPHIA, PA – IM3Media will host its fourth annual Black Music Month showcase, The Comeback – “Philly Style”, at The Painted Bride June 21, 2013, from 7:00 p.m. Please join us for an unforgettable evening of Philadelphia’s biggest and brightest stars in black music. This celebration
of black music will bring the old and the new generations of singers back to their original roots. “The Comeback – “Philly Style” will continue to capture the essence, ambiance, and spirit of “feel-good music” our great city is known for. The 2012 award recipients were: Community Activist Charlie Mack, Grammy Award Winning Producers Carvin Haggins and Ivan Barias and Grammy nominated recording artist Jazmine Sullivan. Our 2013 Dyana Williams “Profile in Excellence and Innovation Lifetime Achievement Award” recipients are Grammy Award Winner James Poyser, State Representative Louise W. Bishop, RuffHouse Records CEO Chris Shwartz. Kenny Gamble, along with A-list urban celebrity media consultant Dyana Williams and Congressman Chaka Fattah, co-founded and crafted legislation for Black Music Month. Bill 509 was instituted as a means to give credence to the contributions of African-American music as an economic entity. Former President Jimmy Carter decreed it in June 1979. IM3Media is playing a central role in the resurgence of Philadelphia’s soul music scene. “The Comeback - Philly Style” is a critically-acclaimed music showcase and award ceremony dedicated to preserving the legacies of Philadelphia soul music artists and its key contributors.
