History Of The Show -
Dropkick Radio began as a weekly podcast in January of 2008 with the focus of the show
being to discuss the weeks wrestling television shows (and monthly PPV events) by the WWE and TNA. After a while, the show broadened it's horizons, discussing the latest news in wrestling, bringing listeners guests interviews with wrestling personalities from around the world, themed segments and much more! In August of 2009, the team decided the next big step was to broadcast the show Live every week, giving the opportunity for listeners of the show to not only tune in Live, but to interact with the DKR Team and other listeners in the chat room, adding to the discussion of the show as it's happening! While the show has evolved in many ways since it's inception, it continues to stick to it's roots, and provide listeners with compelling discussion on the world of wrestling every single week of the year! (Since January 2008, there's has only ever been two weeks where there was no show produced, and was just down to technical issues more than anything). We appreciate that there are a variety of choices when it comes to wrestling audio from around world. But we encourage you to give us a try as we give honest opinions and try to make the show as enjoyable as possible! We have gained a good reputation for producing high quality programming including in depth interviews with some of the biggest in names in the world of wrestling. From WWE Superstar Chris Jericho, to former WCW Champion Vader, 'The Hardcore Legend' Mick Foley and one of the greatest minds in the history of wrestling Jim Cornette (to name a few). While bringing you high profile names, we also like to turn our attention to those who are giving it their all in the Independent wrestling promotions of the world! Past interviews include the likes of Tyler Black (who has since gone on to be known as Seth Rollins in the WWE), Chris Hero, Eddie Edwards, 'The Young Bucks' Matt and Nick Jackson (now known as Generation ME in TNA), Jimmy Jacobs, Kenny Omega and many, many more! We should note that there's no language barrier on the program (although, we do try to keep language as clean as possible.) (You have been warned!)
Our weekly show is broadcast every Monday right here at www.DropkickRadio.com (visit our Listen Live section for full details on how to tune in) at 7pm GMT / 2pm EST. But, we appreciate that not everyone from around the world can tune in Live. So we archive the show and make it available for streaming and/or download as quickly as possible to ensure everyone can still listen to our dulcet tones every week!
