ELSA KLENSCH ... Her program “Style with Elsa Klensch ” on CNN was groundbreaking and brought high fashion to the world. Every Saturday morning at 10 AM Elsa would show us what designers were creating and presenting. Her program illuminated me to all facets of style as I was growing up in Northeast Ohio. A few years later I found myself working in NYC backstage at those very same shows, sharing space interviewing the same designers and models. She was a larger than life character in the fashion press and a forceful pioneer in style broadcasting. RIP Elsa. She was 92.
RIP THIERRY MUGLER The designer, who dressed everyone from BEYONCÉ to CARDI B, and from CiNDY CRAWFORD to DAVID BOWIE, was 73. MUGLER’S signature was a hyper- sexed glamour that was typified by clients like LADY GAGA and models like LINDA EVANGELISTA.

PEACHY KEEN LAST WORD
Peach Ginger Syrup
½ cup chopped ripe peaches
2 pinches salt
⅓ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup ginger juice
¼ cup water
* Add peaches to mason jar and muddle
* Add all other ingredients
* Attach lid and shake to dissolve sugars into liquid
* Strain solids from liquid, discard solids
* Store syrup in refrigerator for up to 10 days
* Or, freeze syrup in an ice cube tray. Defrost cubes to make cocktails
* Or, add 2 tbsp per ½ cup syrup alcohol (your choice). This will keep bacteria from growing and will stabilize the syrup for an additional week or two
Peachy Keen Last Word
¾ oz (1.5 tbsp) gin, tequila, or mezcal
¾ oz (1.5 tbsp) green chartreuse
¾ oz (1.5 tbsp) lime juice
½ oz (1 tbsp) Peach Ginger Syrup
* Add all ingredients to mixing glass
* Fill vessel with ice
* shake
* Strain cocktail into chilled stemmed glass
* Garnish with peach or candied ginger

STYLE “FEVER” with PEGGY LEE Happy Birthday Norma Deloris Egstrom (May 26, 1920 – January 21, 2002), known professionally as Peggy Lee, was an American jazz and popular music singer, songwriter, composer, and actress, over a career spanning seven decades. From her beginning as a vocalist on local radio to singing with Benny Goodman's big band, Lee created a sophisticated persona, writing music for films, acting, and recording conceptual record albums combining poetry and music.
Lee recorded over 1,100 masters and composed over 270 songs.
Every serious vocalist has studied, copied or has been influenced the the cool swinging style Peggy perfected. Lee ranks among the most successful female singer-songwriters in the annals of American popular music. She wrote over 200 songs – most often lyrics, but sometimes music as well, with a variety of collaborators, including Harold Arlen, Cy Coleman, Duke Ellington, Quincy Jones, Marian McPartland and Victor Young. Some of the artists who have covered Peggy Lee compositions are Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Diana Krall, Queen Latifah, Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, Janelle Monáe, Nina Simone, Regina Spektor and Sarah Vaughan.
AUDREY HEPBURN STYLE ICON BIRTHDAY ( 4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993) was a British actress and humanitarian. Recognized as both a film and fashion icon, she was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third-greatest female screen legend from the Golden Age of Hollywood, and was inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame.
She rose to stardom in the romantic comedy Roman Holiday (1953) alongside Gregory Peck, for which she was the first actress to win an Oscar, a Golden Globe Award, and a BAFTA Award for a single performance. That same year, Hepburn won a Tony Award for Best Lead Actress in a Play for her performance in Ondine. She went on to star in a number of successful films such as Sabrina (1954), in which Humphrey Bogart and William Holden compete for her affection; Funny Face (1957) a musical in which she sang her own song parts; the drama The Nun's Story (1959); the romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961); the thriller-romance Charade (1963), opposite Cary Grant; and the musical My Fair Lady (1964). In 1967, she starred in the thriller Wait Until Dark, receiving Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA nominations.
She remains one of only 16 people who have won Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards.
Later in life, she devoted much of her time to UNICEF, to which she had contributed since 1954. Then, she worked in some of the poorest communities of Africa, South America, and Asia between 1988 and 1992. In December 1992, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
RIP Alber Celebrated fashion designer Alber Elbaz, perhaps best known for his work at Yves Saint Laurent and Lanvin, has died of Covid-19 at the age of 59. Elbaz was the creative director of Paris-based Richemont's AZ Factory, for which he designed "beautiful, practical, and solutions-driven fashion that worked for everyone.
