Information is a powerful tool, molding the thoughts and opinions of masses with little question and even less reason. Perhaps Orwell captured it best in 1984: “Ignorance is Strength.” This is where the public stands today in the wake of mass media consolidation, a sea of ignorance. Through this we have been molded to accept every word that spews from these media giants, even while corporations

with private agendas influence these outlets, spinning the information we digest. It was these simple ideas that created The Seattle Sinner in October of 2002, becoming Seattle’s only true voice, a public forum, if you will. Our foundation is the 1st Amendment, and our writers are all dedicated contributors who pursue local and national topics with no editorial pressure and very little restraint. This very reason alone is why independent media is so important.
