When I was younger, I envisioned heroes wearing costumes and capes.
They were larger than life. They were as strong as Superman!
They were as radiant as Wonder Woman!
Hollywood had me convinced heroes existed, and walked among us, but they must disguise their identity.
Now that I am older, I can confirm you know a hero. Probably a few.
For 7 yrs, we have walked hand in hand with thousands of heroes in our very own community.
We have partnered with them. They helped raise over $37,000 for 150 families in Racine alone.
These heroes may not look alike, but they all share the same goal. To help those in need.
These heroes don’t wear capes, and until recently, didn’t necessarily wear masks. They are just like you and me. They walk our very same streets. They work at the local businesses we frequent. They have children that ride the bus with our children. They even shop with you at the very same Target we meet at every year in December.
The origin story of these heroes is just like yours.
While we may not share the same birthplace, we share the same community.
They love this city like you and me. And they will do everything in their power to make sure this community is in good hands when they leave.
It’s that special care that makes them heroes.
And they’ve invited us along for this glorious ride.
They say prayer is nothing without action, so now is the time.
In the city of Racine, every holiday, for the past 7 yrs, we have embarked on a journey to make our community a better place. We’ve been led by heroes. Without them, this journey is not successful. Without them, our community struggles.
WITH THEM, we make sure every single Holiday is one to be remembered.
With them, we show the children of our community, Santa Does Exist!
