Dear all,

The 9th International Symposium on Pedagogical Lexicography and Second Language (L2) Teaching and Learning (PL<L 2024) will be held from October 25 to 27, 2024 at the Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan, China.

Organized by GENG Yundong (Associate professor, Huazhong Agricultural University, China) and CHEN Lian (PhD, Orleans University LLL UMR 7270 CNRS & CY Cergy Paris University LT2D – Jean Pruvost Center EA 7518, France), PL<L 2024 is funded by the Project “Digital Lexicography in China and Europe: Status Quo and Future Directions” (Project Number: G2023157010L). It specifically aims to bridge academic communities in China and Europe, thereby enhancing scholarly dialogue and joint research endeavors within the realm of digital lexicography.

Focused on the overarching theme “Lexicography and Knowledge Services in the Era of AIGC”, this symposium is dedicated to exploring the dynamic interplay between lexicography, L2 teaching & learning and knowledge services in the burgeoning Age of AI-Generated Content (AIGC). We are excited to host a range of keynote addresses from esteemed scholars worldwide, aiming to stimulate a rich exchange of ideas among leading lexicography theorists, practitioners, and publishers, as well as experts from both China and the global community. Academics, (meta)lexicographers and publishers are invited to submit original research proposals.

Le 9ème colloque international sur la lexicographie pédagogique, l'enseignement et l'apprentissage des langues secondes (Pedagogical Lexicography and L2 Teaching and Learning : PL & LTL 2024), se tiendra du 25 au 27 octobre 2024 à l'Université agricole de Huazhong à Wuhan, en Chine.

Organisé par GENG Yundong (MCF, Université agricole de Huazhong, Chine) et CHEN Lian (Docteure, Université d'Orléans LLL UMR 7270 CNRS & CY Cergy Paris Université LT2D – Centre Jean Pruvost EA 7518, France), ce colloque est financé par le projet "Lexicographie numérique chinoise et européenne : état des lieux et orientations futures" (numéro de projet : G2023157010L). Il vise spécifiquement à rapprocher les communautés universitaires en Chine et en Europe, renforçant ainsi le dialogue scientifique et les efforts de recherche conjoints dans le domaine de la lexicographie numérique.

Axé sur le thème général « Lexicographie et services de connaissances à l'ère de CGIA », ce colloque est dédié à l'exploration de l'intersection de la lexicographie, de l'enseignement et de l'apprentissage d'une langue seconde (L2) à l'ère du CGIA (Contenu Généré par Intelligence Artificielle), paysage en pleine évolution. L'événement comprendra des interventions d'universitaires et experts de renommée mondiale, favorisant le dialogue entre théoriciens et praticiens de la lexicographie numérique, ainsi qu'entre experts chinois et internationaux dans les domaines de la lexicographie, de l'enseignement et de l'apprentissage de la L2. Les universitaires, les (méta)lexicographes et les éditeurs sont invités à soumettre des propositions de recherche originales.

第九届学习词典与二语教学国际研讨会 将于2024年10月25日至27日在中国武汉华中农业大学举行。

本次会议由耿云冬博士（华中农业大学）和陈恋博士（法国奥尔良大学&法国塞吉巴黎大学）组织。本次会议得到科技部 2023 年度“高端外国专家引进计划”项目“中欧数字辞书创新 发展路径比较及对策研究”资助(项目编号:G2023157010L)，旨在促进中国和欧洲 辞书学者在数字辞书研究领域的交流与互动。本次研讨会将聚焦“AIGC（人工智能自动生成内容）时代的词典编纂与知识服务”背景下的学习词典编纂、二语教学与跨语知识服务等问题，拟邀请国内外知名学者与会，促成中国学者与国际学者之间的对话与交流，推进中外“学习辞书数字化研究共同体”交流与互鉴。

Objectives of DiCoP Projet :
In line with the current electronic era, the DiCoP project aims at developing an electronic dictionary of multilingual phraseology (currently French-Chinese and Chinese-French), based on a corpus of phraseological units (collocations, proverbs, IEs, puns, defrosting, etc.) and associated databases to determine their frequency of use (in newspapers, literary works, textbooks, etc.) in practice and thus their vitality, to improve their automatic translation, and with the aim of giving easier access to the phraseological units.

Abstract :
Like many natural languages, the French and Chinese languages are rich in idiomatic expressions ((IEs) or chéngyǔ. Through these expressions, humans perceive the influence of historical antecedents, and from different perceptions of the universe, ways of life, thought, and customs. For example, while all human beings are similarly constituted with the same limbs and organs, the use of the lexical field related to the human body leads to metaphorical constructions that sometimes differ in the lexicon from one language to another. As such, in both French and Chinese, the heart is omnipresent in the lexicon, especially in IEs. However, its representation differs in the two cultures：the “mind-heart” dualism or the “reason-emotion” dichotomy (Yu 2007b: 27), opposing concepts in Western cultures, do not exist in the Chinese tradition. Although Yu (2007a, 2007b, 2009) has studied the theme of the heart in Chinese and English, there is currently no contrastive research with regard to French, especially in the area of phraseoculture. Hence, through our article, we aim to make the reader aware of this necessary approach that is phraseoculture. Our corpus is based on monolingual and bilingual specialized dictionaries, as well as on databases, allowing for a synchronic approach to the subject.

Résumé

À l’instar de nombreuses langues, le français et le chinois sont riches d’expressions idiomatiques (EI), ou chéngyǔ. À travers ces expressions, se perçoit l’influence des antécédents historiques, des différentes perceptions de l’univers, des modes de vie et de pensée, des coutumes…Par exemple, si tous les hommes sont pareillement constitués, avec les mêmes membres et organes, l’emploi de ce champ lexical lié au corps humain aboutit cependant à des constructions métaphoriques parfois très différentes dans le lexique d’une langue à l’autre. À ce titre, en français comme en chinois, le coeur est omniprésent dans le lexique, et spécialement dans les EI. Cependant sa représentation diffère dans les deux cultures：le dualisme « esprit-coeur » ou la dichotomie « raison-émotion » (Yu 2007b : 27), concepts opposés dans les cultures occidentales, n’existe pas dans la tradition chinoise. Yu (2007a, 2007b, 2009) s’est penché sur la thématique du coeur en chinois et en anglais, mais il n’existe actuellement aucune recherche contrastive avec le français, notamment sur la phraséoculture. Nous espérons que notre article contribuera à sensibiliser le lecteur à cette approche nécessaire qu’est la phraséoculture. Notre corpus est établi à partir de dictionnaires spécialisés monolingues et bilingues, et se fonde sur des bases de données permettant une approche synchronique du sujet.
