Happy Mother's Day to the woman who carried me in her belly for 9 months and gave me life. Thank you for loving me with all your heart and setting such a high bar how to be a mother to my own kids. No love can compare to a mother's love, and I'm so grateful every day I still have you in my life.
To the world, I'm a grown woman in her 30s, married, with two kids, and a whole lot of responsibilities... but to you, I'm still a kid; I'm still your precious little baby. And it feels so good to know how young I'll always be in your eyes and cherish I am by you. Now that I am a mother myself, I can finally understand all your hard work, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

Meet Kalon Xamuyees Loktin Kan, the newest addition to our family! Born two and a bit weeks early on April 10th, Kalon was in a hurry to enter the world, and daddy almost missed his delivery!
This little bundle of joy has stolen our hearts with his big bright eyes, calm nature, and adorable gentle cries. We are so grateful to God for this miracle child and for the blessing of being his parents.
The name Kalon (KA-LUHN, rhymes with gallon), means to embody the ideal of perfect beauty - physical, moral, and spiritual. It is our hope for him to grow up and flourish, and to see the beauty of his soul, heart, and mind shine through.
Mommy already loves you with all my heart, Kalon ❤️

April 25th would have been my due date but my baby had other plans and decided to come over two weeks early.
Paul was away on a work trip and I woke up to intense contractions in the middle of the night. It was a wild ride getting to the hospital and I thought I was going to give birth in the car when we were blocked by a train in the middle of morning rush hour. All I remember was being so incredibly thirsty. It was probably a great distraction, so I didn't have space to worry about Kairos.
Kairos woke up just as I was getting ready to leave the house and was dropped off confused and crying at my mom's house in the chaos of getting me to the hospital. I barely had time to bid him goodbye because the surges were so strong and close together. I hadn't finished nesting and there were no hospital bags or diaper bags packed. By the time my older brother got me admitted to triage, I was already 8cm dilated and 90% effaced. I brought nothing with me but the clothes on my back and my purse.
Paul was rushing back from Chicago but was still 2.5 hrs away. Luckily, my doula met me in triage and was in communication with Paul and I the whole time. I was so happy to see a familiar face when she arrived and broke down a bit before being swiftly wheeled off to labor and delivery.
Baby decided to wait for daddy and I was so relieved when Paul finally arrived, panting into the room completely disheveled. He told me later he had been driving over 100mph on the freeway, almost ran out of gas, and was sprinting through the hospital hallways. My water broke 10mins after Paul arrived and Baby was born within the hour!
Total labor was 6 hours compared to 41 hours with my firstborn. With my first, I was super calm and dialed in. This time, I wasn't able to find a good mental rhythm because of the hectic pace, emotions, and panics of that morning. Luckily, my surges only lasted 1min unlike the unbearable 2-3mins of my first labor. It was nothing like I expected and I'm so thankful I had so much support from my family. God had his hands all over us and everything worked out because of his provisions and timing.

Love week celebrating our anniversary with a nice sit down dinner after our maternity photoshoot. We took our son along and surprisingly, he did pretty good. We had to use screen time so he could make it through dinner- He was exhausted from the events of the day! ❤️

I enjoyed my maternity photoshoot so much last time that I knew I wanted the same experience again with !
And boy did I feel pampered getting my makeup and hair done and prancing around in some gorgeous dresses! Thanks to hair by and makeup by for glaming me up. I'm usually really picky about doing my own hair and makeup but it felt great to let go of control and allow myself to get some relaxing self care.
Kairos wasn't really happy once we started taking photos. All he wanted was mommy so it was challenging but we took it slow and just went with his flow. Luckily, he fell asleep later and Paul and I was able to get some couple photos in 😅

The first snowfall this Dec where Kairos really got to play with snow! It was so fun watching him run around what looked like a snow globe neighborhood.
I had the best time chasing him around as we both giggled trying new things together like throwing snowballs and tasting the snow on our tongues.
When we pulled into the garage, my sweet son clapped to let us know it was really fun ❤️

IT'S A BOY!
We waited so long to find out what the gender of Baby Kan 2 would be. It was so hard to be in the dark about its gender but we're happy to finally be able to celebrate such an exciting moment with loved ones on this beautiful Christmas Day! The best gift of all is knowing that baby 2 is healthy and Kairos will have a little brother to have fun with very soon.
I never thought I'd be a boy BOY mom but here we are! 😅
Thank you God for your son Jesus Christ born today and for the gift of motherhood and all the goodness that will come with raising this next dear child of mine ❤️

In honor of International IVF day this week which was on July 25th, I want to share a short video to recap our IVF journey in celebration of how far we’ve come. On a road full of extreme highs and lows, we're lucky our first round was a success. If there are people looking for a success story, I hope you find encouragement and hope in ours. After many failed IUIs, we had our first IVF consultation on April 1st but things came to a screeching halt when my father passed away that same month on April 22nd. After his funeral on May 9th, we made the emotional and difficult decision to move forward on May 30th. After our first embryo transfer, I found out I was pregnant on July 15th. After 7 years of marriage, we’re blessed to welcome our precious son, Kairos into our life. He is prayed for, so wanted, and loved beyond words. After giving birth, I was still in my maternity clothing, baggy sweats, and comfy robes while my uterus was enlarged, healing, and taking time to shrink back. That meant I still looked at least 6 months pregnant. Also, my pre-pregnancy clothing didn't fit anymore because I had gone up a size. It was really hard to feel confident like myself again when nothing in my closet fit right. So a couple weeks ago, I finally went through and collected two bags of old clothing for donation, keeping only the ones I would realistically be able to fit into again.
