Hallows Eve Films was born in 2007 when two long time friends and horror fanatics dedicated themselves to creating horror and exploitation films saturated in the style and substance of 1970's and early 80's cutting edge cinema. Evan Makrogiannis and Brian Weaver are the brains behind Hallows Eve Films and they are committed to bringing horror/exploitation fans movies that deliver the sordid goods.
The first film that Evan and Brian wrote and directed was the cult flick, THE TURNPIKE KILLER. The movie tells the story of a serial killer who prowls the streets of NY and NJ, fueled by a bloodlust and occult driven lust. TPK quickly became a hit with fans of gritty and brutal grindhouse movies. Comparisons were made to classics such as MANIAC, DRILLER KILLER, THE TOOLBOX MURDERS and other grimy 70's and 80's movies. Starring a mix of B horror regulars and new faces to the genre, TPK went on to score a multitude of film fest selections and scored many festival wins. The movie was picked up by New York Horror FIlm Productions and was released on dvd and VHS. The VHS big box release was one of the first true big boxes in the recent VHS revival. The second movie that was written and directed by Evan and Brian was the critically acclaimed exploitation movie, THE SUPER. Starring horror icon LYNN LOWRY, death rap legend Ron "NECRO" BRAUNSTEIN, German horror queen MANOUSH, BRANDON SLAGLE and featuring a fiery debut lead performance by DEMETRI KALLAS, THE SUPER also went on to win many film fest selections where it scored many wins. The movie is praised by both critics and fans alike for its sheer visceral story telling and unabashed violence and sleaze. THE SUPER is the story of a Vietnam veteran and his struggle to maintain his sanity and he plummets through a downward spiral of insanity, murder and mayhem. Noose Hill Entertainment produced the movie and did a dvd release along with a special clam shell VHS release.
