Smidge Malone is a living legend of the NY underground (literally)... subway minstrel, king of the dive bars, 5am philosopher, stumblebum, monster trumpet player with the voice of a fallen angel, a true anarchist and legend of music... know for his unpredictable stage antics, coked up new orleans brass, and remarkable trumpet chops, this hard living soul man is the truth.

The East Village All Stars formed during the pandemic, where Smidge Malone's undeniable street performances gained attention from top-notch jazz/swing musicians: bassist Nick Trautmann, trombonist Mark Nagy, banjo player Mike Storey, drummer Cristobal Miranda and more... their passionate performances were an antidote to the soul crushing lockdowns and disease, bringing the band lots of hard-earned tips$$ and high profile gigs. The band later recruited more musicians including guitarists Mike Delgado and Leo Mintek who are featured on the album. Born of fire and fury, this CBGB-meets-Birdland heavy swing combo is the realest jazz-punk band you will ever see.
