🌈 happy pride! 🌈 healing from trauma is what made me realize I'm gay 👇🏼

even though there were *very clear signs* early on in my life (like my childhood crush on Vanna White and secretly not wanting any of my friends to date boys) 🙌🏼

I couldn't recognize that I was gay until age 35 (I'm 39 now) 😮‍💨

I'm what's called "a late in life le***an" 🌈

healing trauma and abuse opened me up to living authentically...

as I was healing, I was learning how to live for myself, and not for other people 🥰

and as I was going through the process of unlearning people pleasing, I realized I'VE BEEN GAY THIS WHOLE TIME 🏳️‍🌈

part of me was so used to suppressing my true emotions to please other people 🥹

and another part of me had spent a lot of my life trying to hide and fly under the radar to feel safe 😮‍💨

I realized I had essentially been living in a freeze and fawn response for my whole life...

healing from trauma is what inspired me to get out of living in survival mode and be authentically me ✌🏼

healing from trauma and finding your authenticity are an interconnected processes... 🙌🏼

because trauma often disrupts your sense of self, it leads to feelings of disconnection and inauthenticity 🥹
