To successfully build and run a business, surround yourself with a team of people with complementary strengths to your own! You can't do it all, and you don't have to.
This is one of the most important lessons that Daniel Curtis, founder of Vices (a luxury subscription box company like none you have ever heard of before), has learned on his 7-year entrepreneurial journey.
Tune in tomorrow to hear more!
Success is a subjective term that can mean different things to different people. Don't let anyone else's definition of success guide you. Take the time to reflect and get clear on what YOU really want. Whether it's financial independence, work-life balance, or personal fulfillment, it's important to have a clear vision of what success looks like to you.
How much money should you spend on marketing? There's no correct answer to this question, and yet there's one thing that we know for sure: marketing budget size doesn't matter. It's how you use these marketing dollars that makes a difference.
If your marketing efforts are not optimized and you put in a lot of effort to create little to no impact, adding another couple (or couple hundred) grand won't do you any good. But whatever the size of your organization or marketing budget, it's never too late to re-examine your current efforts and optimize them to generate more value.
Here's how you can do it:
1. Understand your ROI calculation
2. Identify whom you target
3. Define your Unique Selling Point
4. Provide enough information
5. Create a dedicated landing page
6. Provide engaging content
7. Mid-funnel remarketing
8. Retargeting site visitors
Why does it matter? Because this will help you increase the ROI of each marketing dollar you put in. Higher value, lower costs, better business.
We're talking about all things acquisition entrepreneurship!
How do you go about acquiring a business? What do you look for in a business? And what process do you go through when acquiring a business?
At Beyond 8 Figures, we've had a few great episodes talking about acquisition entrepreneurship, and we've got more interviews on this topic lined up!
If you've ever acquired a business before or are currently in the process, we'd love to hear more about your experience. Or, if you have any questions about business acquisitions, send them through!
Do you also struggle with setting long-term goals?
While we may already know what we want to achieve in our business, sometimes it's tricky to put our long-term goals into words.
But consistent growth comes from well-structured goal setting. So, we're thinking about doing an episode on goal setting and analyzing some of the insights from our previous guests.
We'd love to hear about how you go about setting your long-term goals – if you have any tips or insights on setting clear long-term goals, send them through!
How do you approach partnerships in your business?
As entrepreneurs, we spend a lot of time thinking about how to approach partnerships in our business—whether it's with employees, business partners, or customers.
We know that partnerships can make or break a business.
After chatting with many experts on the show about how they approach partnerships, we've found five key lessons in building stronger relationships with all partners:
1. Be more communicative
2. Share more knowledge
3. Seek feedback
4. Establish trust
5. Set mutual goals
Welcome to the Beyond 8 Figures club!
If you're new around here, you've got some great episodes to catch up on. A good episode to start with is our interview with Dr. Velma Trayham on ending poverty through entrepreneurship, where she shares great advice that all entrepreneurs can benefit from.
We cover topics for each stage of the entrepreneurship journey from growth to expansion, scale-up, optimization, and exit strategies—plus everything in between.
Take a look around and let us know what entrepreneurship content you'd like to hear on the podcast. We love hearing from you!
How do you build a business that can get acquired?
It starts with two things:
1. Finding the right niche
2. Solving the right problem
According to Stewart Townsend, it's possible to build a one-person million-dollar business. You don't need a huge team. All it takes is hitting the right niche that solves the right problem.
Now the question is, what problem needs to be solved? And how can you build a business that solves it?
As entrepreneurs, we always want to do more. Reach more customers, offer more products, make more sales and create more revenue.
The great thing about entrepreneurship is that you can always do more….but it's also the curse of entrepreneurship, according to Natalie Nagele.
Just because you CAN do more doesn't necessarily mean you should ALWAYS do more. Sometimes you just need to focus on what you're already doing. It's important to set priorities and stick to them. Otherwise, things can quickly get out of hand.
The entrepreneurship journey has many ups and downs, good periods and slow periods, achievements and failures. And while we might enjoy the ups, good periods, and triumphs more than the other times, we can't have one without the other.
The slow periods, struggles, and failures that we go through are what inspires growth. Without them, we become complacent.
So, embrace the challenges that come your way and use them to shake things up in your business.
We are back with the new episodes and we want to hear from YOU how we can make the Beyond 8 Figures podcast better! Let us know in the comments what you are looking for in the show.
How do you stay productive during hectic days? Our host, A.J., swears by Pomodoro time management technic.
Why Pomodoro?
It's simple, straightforward, and easy to manage. Besides, working in small chunks helps to feel better about progress as well.
How do you manage your tasks? Tell us in the comments!
What are you doing on a day-to-day basis in your business? And do you really need to be doing it?
Entrepreneur Pete Martin recently chatted with A.J. on the podcast about building a stronger business by doing less. When working with other entrepreneurs to rethink how they work in their business, he always starts by asking them what they do daily.
If you're spending your day doing tasks that you don't need to, you're going to hit your growth limit. While you may think nobody else can do what you do, that's likely not the case.
At Beyond8Figures, we speak to real entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs who are killing it out there but who have also had their fair share of failures, hard hustles, and challenges. From our point of view, these are the best types of entrepreneurs to get advice from.
So, we're starting a new series, called "Top business advice from real entrepreneurs" – aimed at giving raw, honest, and straightforward advice from REAL entrepreneurs.
Here's our first from Henry Daas – lookout for the next!
