In her village, the customs varied depending on the occasion and the locality. For example, during the festival of Diwali in India, it was customary to exchange boxes of sweets and colorful lanterns. Lily enjoyed picking out the most vibrant lanterns and beautifully decorating them with her friends. The flickering lights shone bright, spreading happiness and illuminating the darkness.

Just a few weeks later, Christmas arrived in the village. Lily watched with anticipation as families adorned towering Christmas trees and sang carols by the fire.
