🎩 There is no magic formula for deciding how often to post on social media.

Over the years, I've read countless articles regarding the optimal posting frequency on social media networks. And I've concluded that they're all flawed.

One article suggests posting no more than twice a day on Facebook. The next one says you should post to LinkedIn on weekdays only, preferably between 4 pm and 6 pm. And others warn you not to tweet more than three to five times a day.

But, in reality, there is no magic formula for deciding how often to post on social media.

That's because what works for one brand doesn't work for another. Sure, you can read case studies of what has worked for others but don't make their solution your solution.

So, instead of seeking magic formulas, let's focus on these three proven posting strategies:

👉 Content quality trumps quantity
👉 Set goals and objectives

With this in mind, it’s best to create content with the below dimensions:

▶ Instagram Reels Size & Aspect Ratio
The size of your Instagram Reel should be an aspect ratio of 9:16.

▶ Instagram Reels Dimensions
The dimensions of your Instagram Reels should be 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels.

▶ How Long Can Instagram Reels Be?
Instagram Reels can be up to 90 seconds in length.

▶ Instagram Reel Resolution
The ideal resolution for your Reel should be 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels.

▶ Instagram Reels Cover Photo Specs
Much like your Instagram Reels, your Reels cover photo should be an aspect ratio of 9:16 and 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels.

▶ Instagram Reels Compression Size
According to Instagram, images and videos between 320 and 1080 pixels are supported in their original resolution, "as long as the photo's aspect ratio is between 1.91:1 and 4:5."

You should also avoid posting Instagram Reels that are low-resolution, too blurry, have already been on Instagram, contain borders, or are visibly recycled from another app.

These types of Reels will be deprioritized — meaning they’ll be less likely to appear across the app.

When you set up a professional account on Instagram, you can run ads from your Instagram account and use Meta tools to create ads that appear on both Instagram and Facebook.

There are 3 ways to run ads on Instagram:

1. Create ads directly from Instagram: Once you convert your profile to a professional account, you can boost feed posts, Reels, and Stories from your Instagram account.

2. Create ads from your page: If you manage a page, you can link an Instagram account to that page to create ads. When you create ads from your page, they can appear on Facebook and Instagram.

3. Create ad campaigns in Meta Ads Manager: Ads Manager provides comprehensive tools to create ads on Instagram and Facebook. Learn how to create Instagram ads in Meta Ads Manager.

Before creating ads, you must change your profile to a professional account. In some regions, you’ll also need to connect your Instagram account to a page you manage to run ads directly from Instagram.
