Been looking forward to this one for a while now. For those that know, you definitely know!
Booya was a club night run by skateboarders in Banchory that stepped outside of the norm. The norm being a bunch of young farmers looking for a fight in the only nightclub to ever exist in the village. Known very briefly as Tootsies, settled as DJ’s, lovingly accepted as the Fleapit.
Two embodiments of the Booya movement are Iain Wilkin (Iceman) and Craig Dempster. Both house music bredrens to the core, you could always find them in the booth or playing at 90% of house parties spread around the town.
It’s a joy to have these technicians in the lab for nostalgic reasons and to jam a night together with new tunes discovered over the many years.
