Trying to get compression that fits right is a major challenge! My ankles aren't affected by Lipedema so compression garments are big there, which leads to swelling as the fluids are trying to find a way out. I don't normally have ankle swelling so it's very frustrating. I emailed for help with finding what I'd wear in their garments and they responded pretty quickly. Looks like I am out of luck! Lipedema sisters, who do you recommend?!

My heavy legs led to a fall. Face planted into the door frame. Slammed my bad knee into the concrete. keeps denying me the medical care I need. My mobility continues to decline, yet they deny the disease process. My arms are full of lipedema tissue and I wasn't able to move them fast enough to brace my fall. They say arms and abdomen aren't affected. Make it make sense!!!

sent my medical records to an unnamed plastic surgeon for review. When I asked for a copy of that medi al review, they denied me. This letter proves that Blue Shield of California refuses to give me the medical review of this unnamed plastic surgeon. A stranger to me--they reviewed my personal medical records, including pictures of my diseased body. Can you read how Blue Shield tells me to get my records from that person? Whose name they won't give me! This is illegal and a delay tactic. Please help me share these illegal and unethical practices. California women with Lipedema, it feels like Blue Shield is discriminating against this inherited disease. In my opinion, this is anti-women's health care! Who agrees?! I would love to share my story. Please help me get the word out!

The lumps, walnuts and rice grains of lipedema fat may be hidden, but they are there. They hurt. They ache. I always thought feeling this way was normal, until I learned about my disease. I am so thankful to KNOW why my legs, arms and stomach look deformed, and why they hurt. Now to fight for treatment for this very real, unstoppable medical condition.

Side note, can you see the line mid shin? Lipedema is moving down my leg. I already feel like each leg is 100lbs of concrete. I need surgery to alleviate the pain and pressure, to save my mobility.

My reason for fighting this lippy battle. I want to be free to play. I want to climb stadium steps and see you run to victory. I want to be beside you, cheering you on. I want to walk to find my seat at your High School graduation. I want to take you on adventures. I want to dance with you at your wedding. I want my arms to hold you as long as I can. This disease will not get the best of me. It will not stop me. I will fight against my insurance denials and I will get my surgeries covered. I will not lose my mobility over this. Just wait and see!
