LITEBLUE
FRAUD ALERT!!!

It has been reported to me from the field that postal employees around the country are receiving calls from someone posing as a Postal Inspector. The “inspector” is telling them their Liteblue account has been comprised and locked. The “inspector” is asking them to provide their EIN, and “previous” password in order to verify and unlock their account.

Unfortunately, we have had some folks pony up the info. Once the information has been provided, the scammers are then logging in to the Liteblue account and change their net-to-bank payroll information.

These are reports from the field and I just reported it to USPS HQ. I have no further information but PLEASE—DO NOT SHARE YOUR LITEBLUE/POSTALEASE LOGIN INFORMATION WITH ANYONE. The Postal Inspectors will not call and ask for this over the phone. If anyone has received this call and provided info, please attempt to login and check your Liteblue/PostalEase account immediately. Go immediately and change your password. If you can’t get in or something is suspicious—Call HRSSC immediately to fix your Liteblue/PostalEase account.

If I have official communications from the Postal Service or learn more—I will let you know. This exact reason is why the Postal Service is changing to MultiFactor Authentication (MFA)—using your cell phone or email to get a code to login. Again—please do not give out your info!!!

Thank you and remember—stay safe, wear your mask!

"Louis DeJoy: Changes made by Postmaster General before 2020 election harmed US Postal Service, judge rules - CNNPolitics"

A federal judge in Washington, DC, ruled Thursday that changes Postmaster General Louis DeJoy made to the US Postal Service before the 2020 election hurt mail delivery, and has put in place orders to prevent DeJoy from doing the same again.

Driving thousands of miles talking to our members in plants, facilities, AOs, stations and branches. Abusive and untrained supervisors creating a harassing workplace is epidemic and worsening. I hear everywhere. This 2018 OIG report exposed the problem, four years later it’s much worse. When elected I will use every governmental, legislative, media and legal resource available to make it STOP. No more cozying up to PMG DeJoy our members need and deserve better.

“Thirteen percent of permanent first-line supervisors (or 2,251 of 18,433) did not have documented support identifying that they took mandatory supervisory training or other supervisory training courses.
Additionally, neither management nor policy required acting first-line supervisors who worked in a supervisory capacity for at least 30 consecutive days to take mandatory supervisory training. Based on interview results, we concluded that 30 consecutive days is an optimal benchmark for required mandatory training as supervisory tasks and responsibilities are no longer temporary or short-term at that point. Further, the Postal Service did not have updated and descriptive job responsibilities and qualifications for first-line supervisors.”

An example of using proactive leadership skills to benefit the membership was the effort at the APWU Health Plan to lower our members premiums by reducing its obligation to its management pension plan. We need solutions like this to ensure our union is protected from financial liability and the members get the most benefits for the least cost from their health plan.

When I became the APWUHP Director I also became a trustee of the management pension plan and it quickly became obvious the ability of the APWUHP to fund the management pension plan was not sustainable long term, was a ever increasing burden on our health plan members in a time of rising premiums and could eventually shift to a burden on our APWU members if the APWUHP could no longer adequately fund this plan.

Add to that one of the main legislative goals of the APWU was Medicare for all, which if adopted would terminate most if not all of APWUHP revenue immediately. However, the obligation to the management pension plan would remain, possibly shifting that obligation to APWU dues payers, which I found unacceptable.

I ended the practice of “double dipping” by APWUHP employees, where an employee could draw a retirement and salary at the same time. I also directed that as much money possible to be deposited in the management plan to lessen the shortfall. This was not enough. The limit that OPM mandates all health plans can spend to operate, the rising salaries of our highly skilled management employees made it impossible to fully fund their plan.

Being transparent with the management employees they recognized the problem and agreed to terminate their pension plan and switch to a 401k plan, supporting researching the cost of this switch by APWUHP leadership. At the next pension plan meeting a motion was made and passed (including a yes vote by managements elected representative) to move assets so they can be quickly turned to cash so hard numbers could be ascertained as to the costs and thereafter presented to the APWUHP board for consideration.

Should the Health Plan board approve the change, the cost of taking a loan for the shortfall at the 2019 low interest rates and remove the obligation of the management pension plan to an outside firm. The initial inside analysis indicated the cost of both the loan and new 401k plan would be the same or perhaps less than the current pension payments and remove all liability to the APWUHP and APWU membership. The increases in health plan premiums to cover increased pension plan costs would stop and once the loan is paid off premiums would be lowered by the loan payment amount.

Sadly the efforts to only obtain the hard numbers so the board could make a decision on this potential cost savings and removing of an unfunded obligation was scuttled by the APWU administration outside the pension plan trustee meeting process at the height of the 2019 election. Putting APWU politics ahead of saving the members money.

We need to do everything possible to save our members money whenever possible and lessen long term liability to the APWU whenever we can. We cannot make decisions on political agendas and misinformation. Once elected our members interests will always come first and good ideas will not die because of personal agendas.

Well here is the attack on workers!
It has already started in Wisconsin! 4 plants have had their mail "deverted" to gaining plants.
And here is the fun part... No one at APWU HQ knew or would admit knowing that the WI plants had had their mail deverted! Some were shocked it was going on... Yet, what do we hear??? Crickets!!!!
Why?!?
Was there a "good ol'boy" deal made?
We need a change at the top of both the USPS and APWU!
Fire DeJoy!!!
Elect John Marcotte for APWU President!!!!!

DeJoy, speaking at the American Enterprise Institute on Wednesday, said he plans to consolidate 500 facilities that USPS processes and moves mail through down to about 65 or 75 regional hubs.

This change, while it might have been needed will have another negative impact on the PO.
More action should have been done to fix the problems not go full scorched earth and eliminate the program.
One more thing to list of how DeJoy is dismantling the PO to privatize it!
