The secret to spending less money at the grocery store is systems and strategies! Here’s a few of mine:1. Pick high yield-low cost fruits as staples in your fridge! Pineapple, melon, apples, bananas, and watermelons will feed your family a lot of fruit while allowing you to keep the price lower.2. Stop buying tons of snacks! Packaged snacks are beyond expensive and they’re making your grocery bill higher than it needs to be. Keep your snacks basic and nutritious so they aren’t just puffed air that drain your bank account. Snacks I keep on hand: Beef sticks, cheese sticks, fresh fruit, apple sauce pouches, and the occasional box of nut based granola bars. 3. Make it at home! If you buy it premade at the store, it’s raising your grocery bill. This is where I utilize my breakfast freezer stock system. I make almost all the baked goods in my house like waffles, pancakes, biscuits, breads, bagels, cinnamon rolls, etc. Then I use my freezer system to store and simply reheat. Not only does this save us so much money, we also save time, and eat healthier because there’s no filler ingredients when you make stuff at home! 4. Eat dinner at home more. The $50-$60 it costs to feed your family a single meal at a restaurant could make you close to a whole week of meals at home. Eating at home doesn’t have to be a ton of work or boring if you’re doing it right. My dinner meal plans are full of tasty recipes and you’ll only have to cook 3 nights a week if you follow my system. My Broke as a Joke meal plan will feed your family 24 nights of dinner for just around $275 😉 If all of this sounds awesome, but you’re just not sure how to accomplish it yourself- my meal plans are the perfect fit for you!
