America In Common Our sole purpose with this site is to help move the country forward, primarily through a time-honored tradition called debate. We certainly do not.

We invite you to America in Common, an oasis of freewheeling thought, disciplined idealism and an unyielding allegiance to the creative discourse necessary for us advance as a nation and as a people. A tradition that, it seems to us, has become devalued and corrupted by loud voices spewing and spreading willful ignorance. We will attempt to frame the issues facing the nation with a focus on pragma

tic progression. In addition, as persons of letters (26, to be exact), we will reclaim and reconsider a variety of words that have been corrupted and corroded by venom and bile. You will see that we, the principals behind this blog, are not easily classified under convenient labels. No one side, person or ideology has a monopoly on the solutions. Therefore, we need you to read, debate and actively engage with us as we deliberate, question and, hopefully, find some answers.
