That feeling when I’ve already started working on songs for another project and the album I’m releasing hasn’t even come out yet… 👀

I can never stop writing and working on new music, so this Saturday afternoon has been spent listening to demos and some tracks that have already been started!!

I pretty much love all genres of music. I grew up listening to Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Janis Joplin. I love Prince, Taylor Swift, Wu Tang Clan, Pearl Jam, and lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Lana Del Rey.

Southern Gothic Romance comes out October 6, which is literally so soon. So I thought I’d share some stories about the meaning of each song on the album in order!

Todays song is River. River was released June 2, which is a date mentioned in Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner which is maybe an Easter egg for the meaning of another song on this album….

It’s a song I wrote about being 22 and spending so many days romanticizing the river and the dark gothic concept of a southern night dancing in the water, watching the moonlight reflecting on the stream while sitting on the banks. I wanted this song to be the first on the album because I think it really pulls you into the scene I’m creating with this project, invites you into the world in my mind.

was yesterday, but checking in on your friends and sharing how much you care for those in your life is an important part of any day!

I’ve battled depression for quite a few years and try to never shy away from opening the conversation and being real about my experience with hopes that we can erase the stigma around mental health and bring opportunities for healing to those who may need it!

If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, thinking you have no purpose, wondering if anyone actually cares about you- please remember that you are loved. You are wonderfully made. The world is a better place with you in it. There is a reason you exist- someone needs you and the light that you bring. Without you, that someone would always have an unfulfilled need because you weren’t there to fill it. There are brighter days ahead, more good days you haven’t had yet, new experiences, new favorite foods you haven’t tried, new favorite songs you haven’t heard. Don’t give up. I love you and so many others do too!!

Playing a private show tonight, recording some new music on Friday, selling some art at a festival on Saturday! 💕

I got super excited today when the total on my receipt was $10.43. 1043 is my favorite number!!

I LOVE black coffee, trains, love stories, and…. The time 10:43. AM or PM. Literally one of my favorite parts of every day. The first time I was played on FM radio, the station was 104.3, my favorite Bible verse is Acts 10:43, and it has just been a good number for me.

I wrote a song about it!! It’s called 10:43 and it’s out on Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, etc. I had the pleasure of recording this song with Mark Mundy, Sandler, and Smith. And we are elated that it is nominated for The Josie Music Awards Folk/Americana Song of the Year!! 🪩🕺💃

Are you busy October 6? Cause I have a new album coming out that day…
It’s called Southern Gothic Romance and it’s a visual album I’ve been working on for years. 😂

It’s an album inspired by southern gothic literature (think Flannery O’Connor, William Faulkner, etc.)
It tells a story of midnights at the river, southern paradise, seasons of grief and growth, forgiveness, lightning storms, changing landscapes, and choosing life- free as the wind.

I had the pleasure of making this project with Mark Mundy, sandler, and smith. They’re absolutely incredible musicians and I loved bringing this vision to life with them.

I had a lot of my friends help me make this visual album- all 12 songs have music videos. I think, to share these videos the best way possible, I’ll release the videos one at a time after the album comes out! 🪩🕺

There are already 4 singles and 4 videos out now! Getting so excited for NEXT FRIDAY!!!!
