Dialogue Creative Journal Calvin College's Creative Journal Dialogue publishes work in six categories: prose, poetry, visual art, photography, music, and film.

Founded in 1968, Dialogue is Calvin College's student-run creative journal, showcasing pieces submitted, edited, and curated by undergraduate students. Blind student jurors for each genre evaluate all submissions and select the finest pieces for publication. In addition to submissions, the Dialogue editorial staff is always looking for students interested in doing layout, helping with promotions,

or serving as jurors. Visit calvin.edu/dialogue to learn how to join the staff, join a jury, or submit your work.

“the pair you refused to dissect”

what is their story? what brought these frogs together? are they in love? (forbidden lovers?) are they the ones that see themselves as friends? (everyone else can see there is more but they just haven’t noticed yet) did they meet in the 9th grade biology classroom and fall in love at first sight or were they childhood friends, who grew up together in whatever place frogs used in science classrooms come from?
whatever they are i love them. so much. and i like to think whatever force brought these frogs together also brought them to me, from the dusty back corner of a (slightly sketchy and very smelly) antique store in a random small town i happened to be passing through. everyday i see these frogs, hanging out on a branch in a frame on my wall, and I make up a story for them, where they came from and where they are off to. and it makes me happy. what is your story?
love, han
