Castle FM is a short-term radio station based in Carrickfergus, County Antrim

The radio station transmitted twice annually between 1998-2005 and after a six year break returned on 4th July 2011. The station started the careers of some of Northern Irelands most aclaimed brodcasters including Stuart Robinson (from Carrickfergus) and Eddie West who now both run Cool FM and Downtown Radio, Stephen Cl

ements Breakfast Show DJ on Citybeat, Natasha Sayee of BBC Newsline, Ricky K of Cool FM, Lisa McCormick of BBC Tees and BBC 5Live and Paul Gilmour of Sky Sports News plus not forgetting local legend David McCammond AKA Work Experience Boy! During its broadcasts the station regulary won awards and attracted record audiences and media attention through it's 'Young Star Search' whcih started on Castle FM and in later years became a province wide talent search for NI's kids. Castle FM was a pioneer of short-term broadcasting in Northern Ireland, that has yet to be succesfully emulated, the station is fondly regarded by many listeners and advertisers across East Antrim.
