I work to increase the levels of clarity to your written words, whether for publishers, authors or any originator of written text. I’ll help at sentence level, while also bringing consistency and accuracy to spelling, punctuation, and standard grammar.

Words AND music by Sarah Steele: What's not to like?📖&🎶

Where are we on the timeline? IMHO at stage 3: 'Further into the Future.'🤔

We all have self doubt from time to time – imposter syndrome some call it. That feeling that however experienced you are, you're kind of just winging it and one day everyone will realise and catch you out. Remember though, some people don't have self doubt at all ... and they're the ones you really need to be careful of!
Happy weekend!

[[ description :
A cartoon of a writer typing at his PC. Out of a cloud of sparks and stars, a time traveller appears.
‘I’m your future self. I’ve come to warn you that the book you’re writing will be a failure.’
In the next cell, another time traveller appears.
‘Wait! I’m from the far future. The book was rediscovered and is now revered as a classic.’
In the next cell, yet another time traveller appears. There are three of them now.
‘I’m from further into the future. The book is now considered so offensive that I’ve been sent back to stop you from writing it.’
In the next cell, yet another time traveller appears. There are four now.
‘I’m from unimaginably far into the future and we don’t allow censorship. Now, everybody go home and leave this man to finish writing his awful book.’
All four time travellers leave.
In the final cell, the writer has his hand at his mouth and the other on his desk – alone with his thoughts about his awful, terrible, offensive book.]]

This is what kids should be bringing to school in International Book week - more creative than dressing up as questionable characters from the film of a book, don't you think?

Saying the word ‘like’ has long been seen as a sign of laziness and stupidity. But its use is actually richly nuanced, goes back to Shakespearean times, and is an indicator of, like, intelligence

Did you know, when a word has several meanings you can describe it as 'polysemous' 🤓? There was an example of that this week, shared by on Twitter: Scottish wildlife identification 😁.
😂 In Scotland, 'beastie' can refer to pretty much any animal 🐜 🕷 🐌 🦕, including 'wee sleekit cowrin' ones 🐭. Have a beastie of a weekend!

A dear friend in France sent me this gorgeous photo of a cold, frosty Dordogne yesterday. Worlds away from the balmy days of the cherry season that inspired THE SCHOOLTEACHER OF SAINT-MICHEL. For an early taste of summer, you can preorder the paperback, which is out in March. Headline Books Mobius Books US

'I’m tired of people perpetuating the myth that people over 50 are unwilling or unable to learn anything new. What rubbish!' An author talks about 'debuting at the age of 66' - a bit of inspiration for us all on a dreary Monday 🤩 https://bitly.com/304HMpW

How do you work best? To the sound of birds tweeting outside? 🐤 With a steady hum of traffic? 🚙 In complete silence? 🤫 To the gentle noise of waves or rainforests? 🌊 If you haven't yet found the right soundtrack to inspire concentration, this article contains a few ideas. 🎧 https://bitly.com/3i44Iwt
