For more than 60 years in Milwaukee, it was pretty easy being green. For decades, the Green Sheet — which ran Monday through Saturday in the afternoon newspaper, The Milwaukee Journal — was a primary destination for readers looking for a laugh, some advice, some nostalgia, a smile. It was a shade of green — somewhere between light green and forest green, if you're a 64-Crayola-crayon-color purist
— that, to many newspaper readers, offered a break from the sobering side of the day. In 2015, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel revived the beloved section. As with the Green Sheet of old, its intent is to provide a daily respite, with words and pictures that might make you smile, and laugh, and remember.
