Meet DMIC- Dennis Michelsen

For more than 20 years Dennis Michelsen has displayed his expertise in radio broadcasting, media coaching, journalism, and marketing to a variety of clients within the auto racing world. Now he launches “DMIC Media and Marketing” which will service companies big and small in sports, auto racing, technology, sciences, music, entertainment, and more.

Dennis has been the Master of Ceremonies of the Race Track Business Conference hosted by Tim Frost of the National Speedway Directory since its inception six years ago. He has had the honor to interview hundreds of celebrities in the auto racing industry including Humpy Wheeler, Jay Frye, Mark Miles, Cary Agajanian, Charlie Whiting, Doug Boles, Herb Fishel, John Gorsline and many more.

Dennis has also been a guest panelist at SEMA Show seminars hosted by John Waraniak.

Dennis is also the play by play voice of the Chicago Wildfire professional Ultimate team of the American Ultimate Disc League.

Dennis has performed play by play, color commentary and pit reporter duties for auto racing coverage including the first ARCA Race when Rockingham Speedway returned and also such events as the Red Bud and Rowdy’s Revenge short track races.

Over the years Dennis has provided media coaching for racers, team executives and business professionals teaching them how to effectively communicate with the media. Some of his clients have graduated to NASCAR, Indy Car, NHRA and IMSA.

Dennis is also an Agricultural Meteorologist graduating from the prestigious program at Purdue University and worked as a professional weather forecaster for over 25 years. During his tenure in the United Airlines Weather Center he developed a statistical model for forecasting San Francisco weather that is still used by government and private agencies today.

Dennis has also been a published writer covering fantasy sports using his statistical prowess from weather forecasting to predict sleepers, stars and flubs in the world of Fantasy Football, Fantasy Baseball, Fantasy Basketball and Fantasy NASCAR.

Dennis has also had the opportunity to interview many greats from the history of rock and roll including Rob Halford of Judas Priest.
