A little red stool with a patched up seat is all that you might see.

The paint was chipped, the legs were worn, but it meant the world to me.

Our home would welcome countless guests, and all were served like kings.

They sat in the nicest chairs around and given the finer things.

The food they ate and drinks they drank were prepared with unwavering care.

But lost in all of those glorious meals was one without a chair.

She was up and down replenishing plates and following the golden rule.

That is why my kind hearted mother always sat on this stool.

She showed us how to put others first and give every ounce of love.

For that is what we’re called to do from our Father up above.

In memory of my mother, Dora Biven.

This past weekend we lost one of the all time greats, my mother. She taught us about Jesus and how to love others well. She made everyone around her feel better and was our biggest cheerleader. I love you mom and will see you again one day.

My brother in law John, who's a Captain for Delta, arranged his flight schedule to fly our daughter, Kate, to work Young Life Camp in Arizona. They don't come better than this guy. Love you Johnny. Your mom and dad would be so proud
