Luka’s curled tail is wagging like a windshield wiper on high as he bounces around the yard on three legs with his canine pal, Callie. It’s hard to imagine a happier dog. It’s even harder to imagine the circumstances of Luka’s life a mere four months ago.

Luka is one of 70 dogs airlifted to the U.S. from a sanctuary in the war-ravaged West Bank of Israel in March by SPCA International. Luka and seven other dogs were put on a plane at JFK and flown to Lunken Airport. There, they were met by Jennifer Salatin of Paws for Miles, a foster-based dog rescue based in Loveland. Seven were transported to foster homes that day. Luka went home to foster with Jennifer herself.

Family-owned, family-focused, family values—a winning combo when it comes to people and products. And it’s the backbone of Loveland Flooring Center, LLC , a fresh community business with deep roots, and an even deeper commitment.

Locals Sam David and Dennis Davis took over the former Carpet Depot, and in addition to giving this longstanding Loveland staple a new name, they’ve added new products, new features, and a whole new level of service.

“We are in our community for our community,” says Dennis, of his and Sam’s focus on guiding customers on their flooring journey. “We excel at offering friendly, responsive service.”

The Reserves at Stone Pillars Farm, which Kevin Malof created with partners Dan deStefano, Scott Lucke and Tim Myers, is a 26-lot community located on 39 acres. It’s also the site of Homearama 2024, where some of the region’s leading builders are bringing their own magic to the property.

Produced by the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Cincinnati, HOMEARAMA® is a single-site, new-home showcase celebrating its 61st year, and this year runs August 24 through September 8. HBA’s Karen Pfeiffer says attendees can expect to tour six beautiful, one-of-a-kind homes that are “fully decorated, landscaped with top-of-the-line appliances, ‘smart’ home technology, and the finest in outdoor living—each situated on a 1+-acre lot, starting at $1.25M.”
