There’s a brand new label in town - Brick Sweat Records - and they aren’t here to mess about. Kicking off their releases with a bang, ‘The Foundation’ provides 20 tracks, from 20 stellar, international artists. Oh, and all the proceeds will go to charity…It’s a no brainer.

This track from Eyesight is a hot UKG take on the classic by AJ Tracey - one that will definitely get you two-steppin’.

Brick Sweat Records was founded through a passion for dance music and the culture that comes alongside it that we all know and love. Formed by a group of 3 friends (Slim Shae, DJ Mean-E and Samyul), Brick Sweat Records aim to put the sounds of the underground on the map; the sounds that brought them here in the first place.

We’ve got a big one this week - Mean-E is in the building! The young DJ and producer is one of the hottest talents in the electro/breakbeat scene at the moment.

He’s currently working 2 EP’s, but has had releases on labels such as Lobster Theremin, Crazed Behaviour & Gimme A Break just to name a few, with more coming out on different VA’s over the next few weeks.

His influences range from The Beatles to Jungle, but his music is generally centered on deep, groovy house music with elements of techno and disco, which will be evident in this mix. He has had tracks supported by BBC Radio 1, and now runs, along with a collective of DJ's/producers, his own nights in Manchester (Hivemind), along with regular appearances at events in Hull. The Mélange Collective #14 - Cassine https://soundcloud.com/melangecollective/the-melange-collective-14-cassine/s-84P0k If you are in and around Liverpool then it’s very likely you’ve heard of Cassine. She’s a regular on the Liverpool event circuit, holding a residency at RAW, but she made her name through mix competitions. She was shortlisted to Honey Dijon’s Top 10 in Smirnoff’s Equalising Music competition and was a finalist in the Rise Festival X Crossfader DJ competition. More recently, she made the final 3 of Making Moves in Music, an international DJ and music production contest which led to her first international gigs in both Amsterdam and Los Angeles. Cassine’s style is epitomised by its thumping, energetic nature. She has an ear for humorous vocals and pulsating basslines. Her track selection is eccentric, weaving across a number of house sub-genres to create compelling sets with a quirky charm to them.
