Chief Secretary Ivan Pomaleu today presented cheques to Bismillah, Desh Besh, Papindo, Tango and a few others in the recovery and restoration phase.

Segment # 3 from last night's episode 9 this is the Gurney airport upgrade groundbreaking and Civil Aviation Development Investment Program (CADIP) phase 2 launch.

With CADIP phase 1 ending on a high and at a total 1.76 billion kina, CADIP Phase 2 was launched in Alotau, Milne Bay Province on May 10th 2024.

Gurney airport upgrade is the first project to start under CADIP 2 where scope of works include a new state of the art terminal building, asphalt surfacing, widening of existing apron to accommodate transport operations by Foker 100, Boeing 737 and Air Niugini's new A220 jet aircraft and new airfield lighting.

The contractor is China Railway Construction LTD.
