This past week I had the opportunity to witness something that, like a time machine, took me back to the days I used to drive to San Francisco just to go see my favorite DJs perform. Two legends from those days were randomly playing at a little club on WIlshire Blvd in Koreatown.

I really mean legends: Miguel Migs and Jay-J on the same booking. I hadn't seen these two play together one after the other in over 20 years. They certainly didn't disappoint and both played exceptionally good.

The music was on point all night and really brought back that West Coast sound that I fell in love with so many years ago. Listening to these two maestros (and friends) inspired me to do an episode similar to what I heard that night at their gig. All new tracks but that have that Bay Area sound vibe from the good ole' days. Enjoy EP-358!

For the last few episodes the tempo has been upbeat and ready for the dance floor on the radio show but, once again, it was time to slow things down a bit with a new Yacht set. This new 'Space Yacht' mix is taking us above to the stars and the nebulas. We are in a retro starship where we will hear trippy mid-tempo versions of tracks we recognize from the past.

The songs might be familiar but I almost guarantee you haven't heard these edits and remixes. Put your space suit on and join us on the maiden voyage of the SPACE YACHT.

The good vibes from the last episode continue this week with the new EP-253. House and Deep House that hit the sweet spot of just bopping your head to the groove. I did dig deep in my collection to highlight all these amazing tracks that have gone under the radar. Including and edit that my good friend (of WCC fame) Torin and I did years ago of Trentemøller 'Le Champagne' with the vocals of Destiny's Child 'Lose my Breath'. Enjoy!

On Saturday August 10th, I got together with a couple of friends as we were all going out to the Venice Gets Deep event thrown by DEEP Los Angeles in Venice Beach, CA. It was an amazing night of music curated by Marques Wyatt that ended at 2am and my friends and I were not ready to call it a night. I took an executive decision and invited a small group of people to my place (I live in Venice) to continue the music flow we were all experiencing. We got to my place, I turned on the decks, set up my recorder and started digging in the thumb drives. 3+ hours later the music was still bumping and the sun was coming up. I love nights like these where the music gives you the energy to keep going and you just get inspired by your friends' reaction to the tracks you dig out. I'm really happy how this 'live' unexpected recording turned out with a nice variety of Edits, House, and Deep House tracks that I usually don't play out but that I love.

Hopefully this recording will give you a hint of the great vibe we were all experiencing, Boiler Room style :)

We have not left the underground club since last week and the music in the current episode is going to cement us here fosho. Banging new tracks including new fire from d3ep's boss and founder - Grant Nelson and new fire from Dr Packer. I even tickled the toes of Tech House in this episode but Tech House kicked me in the teeth and said 'Go back to your floor homie - don't you know I'm loco?' oh well, I tried. See if you can pick out the couple of tracks that are considered 'Tech House'.

On the weekend of July 1st I had the opportunity, once again, to do a guest mix for the radio show 'In A Dream with Mystic Pete ' on LA's local radio station 88.9 KXLU. I believe this was my 3rd appearance for Pete's show and I took a bit of a familiar detour with this one. All previous mixes I did for KXLU were underground and Deep House so for this one I decided to give them a taste of the Yacht series. Yacht Rock was the goal but the edits I played were leaning a lot more towards 'Psyrock'. I am really happy how it turned out so now that it aired on KXLU I am putting it out as episode 347 for the listeners of the NDYD Radio Show. Enjoy.

Last Sunday June 23rd, 2024 I had the opportunity to play at an amazing musical gathering in the heart of West Hollywood called PEX Los Angeles ( PEX LA 2024 ). PEX (The Philadelphia Experiment) is based in Philadelphia and in the summer they do a 3 day event at a boutique hotel called Hotel Ziggy in WeHo on the Sunset strip. Multiple talented DJs from all over the country keep the grooves going day and night for the whole weekend. A lot of the guests also get rooms there so they don't miss anything.

My set was scheduled for the last day which was Sunday, and I was fortunate to get PEX going for that closing day as people were getting set by the beautiful pool. It was hot (over 90F degrees), it was Sunday, and people were trying to cure their hangover from the night before so for the first hour I played some slo-mo grooves to ease everyone in.

After that first hour though I picked up the tempo and people came to the 'dance floor'. Build it and they will come, I think is the expression, and the heads sure did.

You might not be under the hot sun on the Sunset Strip but you get to experience the same sonic treats that the people there did during my time.

The 3 day event PEX LA 2024 starts today with some amazing talent keeping the groove flowing day and night. Yours truly will take the pool stage on Sunday and I will be in good company with talented artists such as Colette, Justin Paul, and many many more right in the heart of West Hollywood. Surprise surprise - unexpected guest mix from another OG of the show and someone who was wayyyyy due to return. No other than one of my favorite producers and master editor (ie: I play his tracks all the time) Chuggin Edits

I am so happy of having him back especially that he surprised me with a Deep House set that stands out among the crowd. It's been on repeat at the studio and I'm sure it will be for you too once you sample this beauty. Couldn't wait to peak the tracklist cause a lot of these tracks are new to me and man did they keep my head bopping in this two set.

I'm back after taking last week off from the show cause you know, LIFE. I should continue to take every other week off because missing one makes me come back even stronger. I really enjoyed recording this episode as I got some new promo heat from Salted Music that are absolute fire including one from the label boss Miguel Migs. Lots of sweet new deepness from artists like Tip Toes, N.W.N., Saison, James Curd, and many more.

I really wanted to do a new Yacht Lounge mix this week but after recording and listening to this episode (EP342) I realized that it wasn't 'chill' enough to be part of the lounge series, plus there was a lot of disco edits in there.

I figured then I will include it into the Disco Yacht collection. Then the issue was these disco edits were slow versions of the originals. What to do? Too fast for Lounge and too slow for Disco. How about a new yacht series called SLO-MO DISCO then?

Das it! (I'm so freakin' original).

That is how this new series was born. A new series in between the chill lounge and the uptempo disco yacht mixes - but ready to take you on a smooth feet tapping yacht ride.
