We’re thrilled to share that Alan Hoff, our Executive Director, has been unanimously elected to the Greater Hudson Heritage Network (GHHN) Board for a three-year term.

Alan’s thoughtfulness, deep care, and unwavering commitment to the museum field continue to transform how visitors connect with spaces and how museums share their stories. His leadership inspires the Monadnock team and creates meaningful, lasting impact across the field.

Still feeling energized from the 2025 SEGD Conference in San Francisco! Sarah and Nilou spent the week immersed in inspiring talks + tours, meaningful conversations, and reconnecting with familiar faces while meeting so many new ones. Here’s a quick recap of our time in SF.

Earlier this month in Hardeeville, SC, Claudia and Steve spent a day with Rollen Chalmers of Rollen’s RAW Grains, filming rice fields for our ongoing project with the Beaufort History Museum! Rollen’s RAW Grains cultivates heritage Carolina Gold and Charleston Gold rice like they did in the 18th Century.

Other stops on the shoot included filming farm animals on Whippoorwill Farms in Ridgeland, SC, and capturing some heritage indigo on Sapelo Island, thanks to Maurice Bailey, founder of Save Our Legacy Ourself—an organization dedicated to preserving Saltwater Geechee culture.

This project has been such a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many stewards of history and culture in South Carolina. We are so proud to contribute to the efforts of these communities!

This Saturday, October 18th, the Military Women's Memorial will host its annual Patriot Leadership Gala – an evening celebrating the trailblazing women who have served our nation with courage and distinction. The event will be live-streamed, offering viewers everywhere a chance to take part in this inspiring night. As part of the program, guests will experience a special 3D flythrough of the newly proposed exhibits for the Memorial, featuring sample media moments from our recent work that will bring these powerful stories to life for a new generation.

Designing an interactive experience is only half the challenge! The other half is testing it with real people before installation—a crucial part of our process. Our solution? Posters across libraries and post offices that opened our doors to a wider pool of testers. Their insights made all the difference in shaping the final experience.
