Stress is Sickening
People under #stress – especially those prone to chronic stress — are more susceptible to a variety of ailments, from headaches and insomnia to high blood pressure and heart disease.

📌 REMINDER: Put the oxygen mask on yourself first and prioritize self-care.
Once you start getting in the habit of self-care, you’ll see how much fun it is. You’ll quickly see the benefits and not only will you begin to feel happier, the people around you will feel more positive as well. #CODEBurnout 💛💜💙🧡 #MondayMotivation
📣 SPEAK THIS OUT LOUD TODAY: I am free of anxiety and am living a calm life. I am ridding my mind of negative thoughts and filling it with positive ones. Anxiety might make me feel uncomfortable but I am in charge of my mind and body.

Imposter Syndrome
A great question from Lean In:
What do you do to combat feelings of self-doubt?
“Yes, it’s real. No, it’s not just you. And if you’ve felt it, you know...” - Elaine Welteroth
Raise your hand if you have been there. 🙋🏽♀️

Seasonal Depression
If you are battling seasonal depression in the tech industry, start by learning the most common signs, symptoms, and ways to reduce its effects. Here are a few ways we are taking action:
1. Try to get as much sunlight as possible. ☀️
If the sun is almost non-existent these days, start researching LIGHT THERAPY to see if it might be a good option for you.
2. Being "social" is difficult and quite honestly, dangerous these days. 💻
Find a friend to check in with, once a week, virtually or safely (6-feet, folks!) Don't rule out tapping the "Groups" button on Facebook to find an online community that you enjoy engaging with on your good and especially your bad days.
3. Get up a move! 💃🏾
YouTube isn't just for cat videos, gossip updates, and your favorite old school dance break. There are a TON of free (and short) workouts to try. Pencil in 10-20 minutes of time away from your desk to get your body moving, blood flowing, and good vibes going.
4. Go. To. Bed. 💤
When you're well-rested, you'll not only have more energy, but you may also have a more upbeat view on life and better focus. Since sleep and depression both affect your brain, they can have big effects on each other, as well.
