As you assess your goals, you may find that they need
to be adjusted to reflect changes in your life or
priorities. This is okay! Adjusting your goals doesn't
mean you've failed or aren't committed to achieving
them. Rather, it shows that you're flexible, adaptable,
and committed to achieving your goals in a way that's
meaningful and relevant to you.

When adjusting your goals, make sure to keep them
specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timebound (SMART). This will help you stay focused,
motivated, and committed to your objectives.

You see, we all have dreams, we all have aspirations, but
sometimes they can feel so big, so overwhelming, that
we don't even know where to start. And that's where
the magic happens. When we break down our goals into
smaller, manageable steps, suddenly they don't seem
so daunting anymore.
We start to see progress, we start to feel momentum,
and before we know it, we're achieving our dreams!

Let me tell you mine.

I was going through my archive some time ago and
came across a video of myself and one of my mentors
at the launch of his book, which I was holding, in
October 2015. Imagine my surprise! Earlier that year, for some reason, I had begun undergoing lots of online
trainings on Personal Development as I didn’t know of
any physical trainer in my country Kenya, and was
consistent with them. Building on this foundation, I
then met an awesome gentleman, Pepe Minambo
through a close cousin of mine, Joan, and officially
began my journey into personal development,
coaching, and transformation.

A few months down the line, still taking online courses,
as I was surfing the net I met the phenomenal Bryant
McGill whose words spoke directly to me. His words
were very impactful I decided to join his community,
The Royal Society, where I learned to be me as a result
of the love and support, I was given.

At this point I couldn’t yet decipher the shape my life
was taking; I had no idea of the business side to
coaching. I only knew I was (still is) passionate about
proffering solutions to the problems of people in my
sphere of contact. I was pained each time I saw anyone
making a mistake because I had made a thousand and
one of them and knew what it felt like to keep falling
and trying to get up again. I was familiar with that cycle.
I loved proffering solutions to such people. Whenever I
found myself listening to and talking with people, I
seemed to float. Everything felt light and I basked in the
euphoria of it. That had been my life.

Years on, after moving to Canada, I got to meet Raymond Aaron and James McNeil at a workshop organized by Raymond, the
Speakers and Communication workshop, an acquaintance had given me a link to, and was introduced to yet another great community. Even after meeting these influencers, my mind wasn’t made up on coaching. I was only interested in the whole concept of
being a life-changer, therefore, I continued with the workshops, reading books and continuing on that path.

After I was done reminiscing, I asked myself a question,
“How did I eventually get here?” I pondered for a few
seconds and then it hit me.
It started with the spark of a goal! Then I added some
strategies. I have a saying "A goal is a spark with a
strategy to ignite!"

Pen ready. What needs to leave your head and live on the page today?

Writing about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences can help you gain clarity and insights into your behavior and patterns. It's like having a conversation with yourself, but instead of just thinking, you're putting your thoughts down on paper. This can help you identify what's working and what's not, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

You can also gain insight into your strengths and passions, and
develop a greater sense of self-awareness. And because it's just for your eyes, you can be completely honest and authentic, without fear of judgment.

Journaling can also be a therapeutic outlet for processing difficult emotions and experiences. Sometimes just getting things off your chest can help you feel better, and journaling can be a safe and private way to do that.

Still with me on our journey through the Vital New You Book?

Let's go even further

Life is a book, and every experience is a chapter. Some chapters are long, some are short, but each one is essential to the story of self-discovery.

Right now, you may be in a chapter that's difficult to read. The words may be blurry, the pages may be torn, and the story may seem unclear. But remember, this chapter is not the entire book. It's a chance to discover new aspects of yourself, to uncover hidden strengths, and to learn valuable lessons.

Every chapter builds upon the last, and every experience shapes the next. The struggles, the triumphs, the heartaches, and the joys – they all contribute to the narrative of your life and help you discover who you are, what you want, and where you're going. The most important chapter of all is the one on self-discovery. Through self-discovery, you'll learn to embrace each chapter, even the tough ones. You'll discover that every experience, every relationship, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to evolve.

Don't get stuck on one page or chapter.

As you turn the pages of your book, you encounter experiences that shape you, challenges that test you, and triumphs that inspire you. And through it all, you learn to embrace your imperfections, to love yourself, and to live authentically.

You discover our strengths and weaknesses, our values and your vision. You find your voice, your courage, and your confidence. And you use them to write a story that's true to who you are, a story that's full of purpose, joy, and fulfillment.

Every chapter is leading you to a new beginning, a new opportunity, and a new chance to discover the best version of yourself.

So, keep writing, keep reading, and keep living. For every chapter is a part of your story of self-discovery, and every story is a work of art.

We’re not meant to figure it all out alone.

Having a supportive community is like holding hands with people who see you—who challenge you, cheer you on, and remind you of your strength when you forget.

In the Vital New You book, it’s beautifully put:

Having a supportive community is like having a tribe of people who get you, who support you, and who encourage you to be your best self…

But here's the thing: community isn't just about finding people who are like-minded or who share your interests. It's about finding people who will push you out of your comfort zone and help you grow.

It's okay to not have all the answers right away… The most important thing is to keep moving forward, even when it's hard. Because the truth is, you are capable of so much more than you know.

So take heart. You’re not walking alone. You’re growing, step by step—and that’s exactly how it’s meant to be.

You’re not meant to do this alone.

You need supportive relationships, mentors, and role models to guide you along the way. You need people who believe in you, who encourage you, and who challenge you to grow. It's a path that intersects with others, and it's through these connections that you grow, learn, and evolve.

Embrace the people who support and encourage you, who see the best in you, and who help you become the person you're meant to be. And don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it – whether it's a friend, a mentor, or a professional guide.

Be patient with yourself, dear one. Self-discovery is a process that takes time, effort, and courage. It's a journey that requires you to be gentle, kind, and compassionate with yourself – even when the road ahead seems uncertain.

Take your time. Find your people.
And when you do—let them walk beside you

Some days ask you to pause.
To stop running.
To stop fixing.
To stop performing.
And just… listen.

To your breath.
To your thoughts.
To the part of you that doesn’t speak loudly,
but always knows.

Reflection requires honesty and vulnerability. You need to be willing to confront your fears, insecurities, and doubts. It's not always comfortable, but trust me, it's worth it.

So, how can you start reflecting? Try these tips:

- Journaling: Write down your thoughts, feelings, and experiences

- Meditation: Take a few minutes each day to quiet your mind

- Self-inquiry: Ask yourself questions like "What am I grateful for?" or "What can I improve on?", "What am I proud of?", "What's been on my mind lately?", "What's been holding me back?", "What do I want to achieve?"
And then, listen to your answers. Really listen. Don't judge yourself, don't criticize yourself, just listen. And see what insights you can gain from your own thoughts and experiences.

- Feedback: Seek constructive feedback from trusted friends, family, or mentors.

Remember, the first step is the hardest, but also the most important. It's a declaration of your independence from self-doubt, a bold statement that you believe in yourself.

What's one truth you've been avoiding lately?

Quick question

What would happen if you paused long enough to listen to your own strength?

Let's read what today's excerpt from THE VITAL NEW YOU book opines about this.

Reflection is like a mirror that shows you the hidden truths about yourself, your thoughts, and your actions. Think of reflection like a quiet conversation with yourself. You know, those moments when you're alone, and your mind starts wandering? You start to notice patterns, habits, and thoughts that shape your life and understand what's holding you back and what's propelling you forward.

I heard this story somewhere, of a lady who found herself at her wit's end. She was overwhelmed with struggles and challenges that seemed insurmountable. Feeling defeated and hopeless, she called her mother, seeking a safe haven and a chance to regroup.
"Mom, I need to come home," she said, tears streaming down her face. "I can't do this anymore."
But to her surprise, her mother didn't offer the comforting words she had expected. Instead, she said, "I believe in you, dear. You're strong and capable. Find a way to get back on your feet."
Feeling angry and rejected, the woman called her father, hoping for a more sympathetic ear. But he too, offered no rescue. "You're an intelligent and resourceful woman," he said gently. "Don't give up. You can weather any storm if you put your heart to it. Don't make a habit of running home every time things get tough."

The lady was devastated. She felt abandoned and alone, with no one to turn to. But as she sat in her despair, she began to realize that her parents were right. She was strong and capable. She had simply forgotten it. With newfound determination, she picked herself up and started making changes. She offered her services at discounted rates, made some tough decisions, and worked hard to get back on her feet. And within a few weeks, she had paid off a significant portion of her debts and was starting to feel like herself again. When we are faced with challenges and setbacks, it's easy to become overwhelmed and seek escape or rescue. But, as this story so beautifully illustrates, it's in those moments of darkness that we discover our inner strength and resilience.

The lady in the story was forced to confront her own abilities and resources, and in doing so, she discovered a strength and determination she didn't know she had. She realized that she was capable of more than she thought, and that she had the power to turn her situation around.

This is the beauty of self-reflection. When we take the time to look inward, we discover hidden strengths and abilities that we may have overlooked or underutilized. We realize that we are capable of more than we thought, and that we have the power to shape our own lives and destinies.

Yesterday, we talked about the call to adventure—the inner nudge urging you to begin your journey.

Today, let’s go further.

Let's see what happens after you answer the call.

Through self-reflection, you begin to peel away the layers of societal expectations, family conditioning, and personal biases. You confront your shadow self, embracing both the light and the dark aspects of your nature. This integration allows you to find wholeness and authenticity, freeing you from the shackles of others' opinions.

As you continue on this path, you discover your interconnectedness with the world around us. You find empathy and compassion, understanding that your struggles are universal, and your triumphs are shared. You form meaningful connections, building communities that support and uplift one another.

The journey of self-discovery is a lifelong adventure, full of surprises and revelations. It's a path that requires patience, kindness, and compassion towards ourselves. As you search the depths of your heart and mind, you uncover the treasures of your true self, shining brightly for the world to see.

The journey into self-discovery begins when we start listening to ourselves. It's the moment we quiet the noise, tune out the opinions, and finally hear the whispers of our own heart. It's the courage to confront our fears, embrace our flaws, and love ourselves unconditionally. It's the willingness to explore our depths, unravel our mysteries, and uncover our true potential.

Truth-telling starts with listening inward.

It’s Monday. A new week. A fresh page.
Ever feel a quiet tug on your heart? Like something inside is urging you to begin again, to step into something greater?

That’s the call to adventure.

Let me share with you how THE VITAL NEW YOU BOOK puts it...

Have you ever felt like something's missing, like there's a whisper in your ear telling you to do something more? That's the call to adventure, my friend! It's like a gentle nudge from your inner self, urging you to explore and discover who you truly are.
Think of it like this: you're standing in front of a door, and you can feel the excitement and fear of what's on the other side. You know that opening it means leaving your comfort zone behind, but you also sense that it's essential for your growth.

So, what does it mean to answer the call? It means being willing to take a leap of faith, to embrace the unknown, and to be true to yourself. It's not always easy, but trust me, it's worth it. When you answer the call, you'll start to notice changes in your life. You'll feel more alive, more connected to yourself and others. You'll start to see the world in a new light, and you'll realize that you have the power to create the life you want.

This week, dare to listen.
