To all the burnt out mamas,
who are feeling isolated and alone.
The ones carrying so much burden,
most which cannot be shown.
Whose hearts are heavy,
weighed down by guilt and shame.
Whose thoughts are racing,
to which she cannot tame.
That despite her best efforts,
she feels it’s still not enough.
Especially when the world
keeps telling her to be tough.
She wears her anger as amour,
protecting her heart and soul.
She feels empty inside,
but so desperately wants to be whole.
She holds on with every fiber of her being,
because she knows she can’t give up.
But at the end of the day,
she has nothing left to refill her cup.
She continues to get out of bed,
despite being haunted by the trauma of her past.
She knows this season is hard,
and that it truly will not last.
The days turn into nights,
just barely getting through each and every day.
Her mind tells her she should leave,
but her heart wants her to stay.
So she falls to her knees
and does the only thing she can do.
Lord, please take this pain away,
I’m giving it to you.
