After the incredible success achieved by Joker, Joker 2 is now in the works. According to a new report, Todd Phillips is in talks with Warner Bros. to reprise his role as director for the planned follow-up, which will also reteam him with co-writer Scott Silver to pen the screenplay. Sequel options are also said to be in place for star Joaquin Phoenix, and as the actor has already said publicly he's open to reprising the role of Arthur Fleck, it's expected he will be back as the Clown Prince of Crime as well. The new Harriet Tubman biopic Harriet would have been an entirely different kind of movie if one studio executive previously attached to the project would've had their way. In an interview about the movie with Focus Features, screenwriter Gregory Allen Howard spoke about when he was first brought on board to pen the movie for Disney in the early '90s. Eddie Murphy is set to be honored with the Career Achievement Award at the Critics Association's Celebration of Black Cinema on Monday, Dec. 2. The achievement will be presented to him based on his work in Hollywood over the past several decades, leading up to his acclaimed role in the Netflix movie My Name Is Dolemite.
