What happens when you bolt 4 bass shakers to a chair?

For the past 4 years I've enjoyed haptic feedback from tactile transducers mounted in my chair.

Explosions in games rumble through me!

But there was only ever 2 and the whole chair rumbled the same amount.

What if I wired a stereo signal?

What if the left rumbled differently from the right?

My 10TB NAS is full. How do you do backups?

I get into a bad habit of then moving projects onto spare portable SSDs as I don't have the time to offload my server with back to back projects.

So I made this week a no filming week.

Sometimes I need dedicated time to catch-up on tasks that keep being pushed back.

2 copies of B-roll/product shots on hard drives in two seperate hard cases.

The projects or reviews I refer to the most stay on my NAS server. (E.g. desk build)

Cloud backup for all uploaded content as well as a no music copy of each video.

Why does this work for me?
Instant access to finals of past uploaded content.
Local network server access to B-Roll/product shots of often reused content.
Offline archives to everything else I've created.

Photo 2 is cool as it shows when I started making YouTube videos back in 2018.

2024 is looking to be 8TB of footage.

16TB of HDDs to have 2 copies.

How do you manage backups?

I've dreamt of this day for years! 😍

After switching to a eBike as my main ride a couple years ago there's been one big issue.

Flat batteries.

Camping at the base of a mountain is fine as long as you can get a powered site.

Otherwise it's not.

But now, oh man, the problem has been solved!

May I introduce my new Portable Power Station.

Swipe for BEFORE and AFTER 💅

Absolutely stoked on how my cable management came out.

I spent a lot of time untangling all the LED lighting wiring and relocating the fuse box.

The best part is I can disconnect device cables easily enough without tearing everything apart.

I forget the back of my monitor is white.

But then I remember when doing cable management.

Stick on hooks are a great way to reduce strain and keep your cables from dangling down.

1 year ago I had an idea 💡
Use 3D audio to put a bird on the ceiling.

What's the trick?

The experiment needed to be with a Dolby Atmos enabled speaker.
This would bounce sound off the ceiling and down to trick the listener into thinking it's coming from the ceiling.

Sure this may fool human ears, but what about a more critical listener?

p.s. it's been a goal of mine to learn how to mix Dolby Atmos audio for over 6 years so I'm stoked to cross this off the list ✅
