The IMSHS Progress enthusiastically joins the rest of the nation in celebrating the 126th Philippine Independence Day. This day marks the Philippine declaration of independence from nearly four centuries of Spanish rule, made possible by the nationalistic Filipinos who fought for our country's freedom and identity as Pinoys. Let us unite, wave our flags high, and show the world that we are proud Filipinos!

THE TURNOVER | Dr. Modesto G. Villarin, former principal of Ismael Mathay Sr. High School (IMSHS), formally handed over the IMSHS flag to Dr. Ferdinand A. Fontillo, new principal, in a ceremony held June 10 at the audio-visual room.

Dr. Fontillo was accompanied by the non-teaching personnel from his former school, New Era High School.

Later that day, Dr. Villarin, accompanied by his former colleagues, went to Ernesto Rondon High School, his new school assignment, where he was welcomed by the outgoing principal Ma'am Ruby S. De Jesus and the ERHS community.

The turnover ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for schools under the new leadership.

BIENVENIDO, DR. FONTILLO | Today, June 10, marks the official first day of service for Dr. Ferdinand A. Fontillo as the new principal of Ismael Mathay Sr. High School through Division Memorandum No. 157, s. 2024.

Before his appointment at IMSHS, Dr. Fontillo served as the principal of New Era High School from 2021 to 2024. His previous principalships also include E. Rodriguez Jr. High School and Jose P. Laurel Sr. High School.

Dr. Fontillo's career in education began as a Social Studies teacher at Batasan Hills National High School. He then advanced to Head Teacher III at Culiat High School before becoming a principal.

STATE OF THE SCHOOL ADDRESS | As Dr. Modesto G. Villarin concludes his three-year term at Ismael Mathay Sr. High School, he highlighted the school's achievements in his State of the School Address from 2021 to 2024.

THANK YOU, DR. VILLARIN | Ismael Mathay Sr. High School extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Modesto Getubig Villarin, Principal IV, as he prepares to depart next week as part of the regular rotation and succession of principals in the Division.

Through Memorandum No. 157, s. 2024, posted on May 31, Dr. Villarin is one of the principals with new school assignments, concluding his three-year term as IMSHS principal.

Dr. Villarin will become the new principal of Ernesto Rondon High School in District I, effective Monday, June 10. The simultaneous turnover program will take place on Tuesday, June 11, during the Division Mancom Meeting.

Dr. Ferdinand A. Fontillo, principal of New Era High School, will soon take over as the new IMSHS principal.

Meanwhile, Ms. Elma E. Mansit, Assistant Principal II, was given her new appointment as the officer-in-charge of Sinagtala Elementary School in District I.

SBPC AWARDING ENGLISH JOURNALISM | See you at the IMSHS Covered Court tomorrow, May 22, at 1 PM for the Awarding Ceremony of the 2nd School-Based Press Conference hosted by The IMSHS Progress.

This year, nearly 300 entries were evaluated, and winners will be awarded certificates of recognition.

The top three participants in each category will receive medals and certificates, with a trophy awarded to the student with the highest points.

NEW SET OF SSLG OFFICERS PROCLAIMED | Dr. Modesto G. Villarin has proclaimed the new set of Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) officers for school year 2024-2025. The officers, who will soon lead the entire studentry of IMSHS, were presented in front of Ismaelians after the flag raising ceremony, May 13.
