Please be aware that the books are not returned to be resold. Amazon either destroys them or they get sold in a lot of other returns. Amazon loses nothing, only the authors do.

*edit to add: this post is aimed at people who are not likely on my page but might see it through sharing. MY readers would never do this. I’ve known most of you for over 10 years. You’re all awesome. 💖

So, in the past few weeks or so, maybe more, I’ve accrued a debt to the publishing company because of returns. Every time someone returns a paperback I get charged $5. I now owe $80 because of this and I flat-out don’t have the money to pay it.

This has never been an issue before. People
Might return one or two books a year, but I’ve had so many returns flood in this month that I’m basically paying for readers to use me as a library.

Please stop returning books you’ve read, unless there’s a good reason for it. Especially paperbacks.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!

Have you dreamed of creating or visiting a new fantastical world full of wonders and mythical creatures? Now is your time!

Belton Cottage Publishing is pleased to announce a call for submissions for their first YA Fantasy Anthology.

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
Theme: Discovering or Achieving One’s Destiny
Word Count Limit: 5000
Submission Deadline: May 17, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. PST

We don’t accept “dark fantasy stories” and ask that all submissions be “clean” fiction without graphic violence or sexual content.

All stories submitted must be previously unpublished, including online publication, and must be original content. We do not accept simultaneous submissions. Limit of two submissions per person.

The chosen authors will be notified before June 30, 2021, and will receive a $10 fee (USD) and a free copy of the e-book.

Formatting Guidelines:
We ask that all submissions are edited to the best of your ability and meet the following criteria:

-Double-space the entire story
-Use 12 pt. Times New Roman font
-Use a 1” margin on all sides
-Put your name, page number and title at the top right corner
-Don’t number the first page but do number the rest of the pages
-Put your name, contact information, previous publications, story name and word count in the body of your email
-Use Word.doc or.docx format
