Many of This Might Get Uncomfortable's guest episodes are recorded months in advance, which creates a lot of anticipation for us (and hopefully for you and our guests). Today we finally released "Reevaluating Social Media: Finding True Authenticity And Promoting Digital Well-being With Allison Sugahara" (which you may have seen in a preview on ).

Whitney discovered Allison of on TikTok and deeply resonated with her personality and messaging about content creation, marketing, and influencer culture. It was a gift to have her on the show to discuss social media addiction, burnout, digital well-being, no-BS branding, and beyond.

“I don’t get better by someone patting me on the back and saying, ‘You’re great. You’re doing everything perfectly and you don’t have any room to grow.’ “

Gresham Harkless Jr. ( of ) came on the show to discuss success and he shard a lot of wisdom. As a podcaster, he interviews CEO to learn about their journies.

“On my show, many times, I’ll ask people to hop in a time machine and talk to their younger business self. The answer I would always have is like, “Let yourself know that it’s not a straight line.” Many times, you quit before things can get good because you think that it’s a straight line. As soon as you hit some type of turbulence or adversity, you think that you failed but you haven’t failed. You can still keep going as so-and-so did. If we don’t hear those stories and we don’t know about that, then a lot of times, we think that we should throw in the towel before we are even just getting started.”

Listen to more from Gresh on This Might Get Uncomfortable, now available as both an audio podcast and video show on YouTube.

“For every one consultation I do, I’ll do one for someone that needs it that can’t afford it. I think the only other solution is the haves should be supporting the have-nots across the board in this country, period. We could do it on a small level with each one of our wellness practitioners. We can each do that. That would be a really good solution.”

The path towards sobriety is also a story of mental healing. Since it directly impacts our minds, dealing with anxiety and depression is a huge factor when working through addiction. Treatments are primarily dependent on a huge amount of medication.

Today’s podcast episode features Rynda Laurel, who shares how her pursuit for natural-based solutions to overcome her own addictions led to the creation of . She talks about her work on educating people on how to lessen hard medication in favor of organic herbs and even psychedelic drugs. Rynda also looks back on how she dealt with the absence of willpower when she was still struggling to heal, how to surrender to other people, and why prominent people must not be afraid to show a bit of humanity by talking about mental health.

They interviewed me about my new book ("A Gay Man's Guide to Life"), and how to shift the narrative from a world steeped in straight supremacy to cracking our hearts open and welcoming change.

You can check out this episode here, called "Britt East: Why Dealing With Multiple Identities Must Begin With Yourself": https://tinyurl.com/d9k8hd4u
