MonkeyShred

MonkeyShred Creating videos and restoring bikes. Many moons. I uploaded the occasional random video but nothing much happened. I just rode from A to B and filmed my journey.

The story of MonkeyShred...
- Where did I even get that name from? -

Well MonkeyShred, the YouTube channel began many moons ago. A few years later, I decided to take up riding to work and had a couple of VERY close calls so figured I'd transform myself in to one of those widely hated "camera cyclists". It may come as a surprise to some though... I'm not out to get anyone. My first series "Cyclis

ts POV" was born. I enjoy pizza, and I enjoy riding so it became a little hobby for me. I share my experiences, positive and negative and I'm happy to share my f**k ups so that others can learn and laugh. So the channel didn't really pick up with this series (probably because I'm not causing enough chaos) so I started uploading videos of my other hobby... Bicycle Restoration. One of the first being a short, weirdly edited video of a 1950 Claud Butler which REALLY took off. A light bulb went off in my head and I realised I should concentrate more on that and now, I film every bike build and every bit of work. I genuinely love hearing comments back on these videos. Being called "inspiring" is amazing. It really pushes me to carry on so thanks to everyone who watches and supports me. This year (2017), I've started to expand a bit more and produced a few "exploration" videos. Whether that's trying out different trails, running an OCR or riding a sportive - I'll try to give my honest feedback on the event. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

Ok so here’s the Vitamin T after a bit of a wipe down. Yeah the crack is disappointing but it can be fixed once the post is out. I’ve also found the original seat binder has been cut off too and not quite ground flat.

Good news is it appears to be a 93 and it has a 1 1/8” headtube. Plenty of forks to fit that!

I bought a new tool 🙂

To upgrade Marin to 12 speed with some extra purple bling.

I’ve fitted a SRAM NX Eagle 12 speed group. That uses a ‘DUB’ bottom bracket so we’ve gone a bit fancy with a purple ano Nukeproof unit. The chainring was also swapped for some fresh Burgtec bling.

Of course you know that means my bike has to go 12 speed to right? Upgrade incoming 😉

So… these two have been up for sale for far too long. Selling at a fair loss and they still won’t shift. If you’re interested shout up quick because they’re about to disappear.

Couldn’t pass up another Ha***ob.

This one is going rigid with a Kona P2 fork.

Can you spot the special detail I’ve noticed on this frame?

I’m looking at your Austria. Does anyone know much about Kastle bikes? My research has been very limited so far, finding mainly people selling frames but this seems like a pretty decent bike and I’d like to know more.

Pretty much all original as far as I can tell with a few red ano upgrades.
